My son found this restaurant, and couldn’t wait to take me! Every single aspect of our lunch was PERFECT, from the service to the meticulously prepared food with delectable spices! Our server took pride in the selections, and rightfully so because each one was more delicious than the other. (We ate our dumplings too fast to remember to photograph them!) The Newtown area is SO LUCKY to have Himalayan cuisine at affordable prices and appropriate for families, romantic dates or in this case a perfect lunch date with my son. We will be back SOON!

Such a great restaurant with a great story to tell. Their food is extremely flavorful and full of spice. Every time I am in town, I make an effort to visit and try a new dish, can’t go wrong with any choice on the menu, I got the chicken curry and tikka masala with garlic naan and it was out of this world.

This is my favorite place in town, and honestly one of the best curry restaurants I’ve ever been to. I go weekly for lunches and order in as well – never a single complaint.

Absolutely perfection ! Everything was perfectly cooked, (the Basmati long grain rice was itself a work of art), the lamb curry (I asked for “spicy”) was perfect, tender and not too spicy for me to enjoy. Service was excellent as well. I went there for lunch on a Thursday and was not crowded when we arrived at noon. Started to fill up about 1:30. They are closed on Mondays. I can’t wait to go again and this time I’ll have Tandoori.

Pleasantly surprised by the interior of the restaurant: Clean, spacious, and a pleasant balance of modern and traditional decor. Service was prompt and friendly, thanks to Anna. The food was good.

Great food! We had Chicken noodle, Chilly chicken and Chicken momos. The noodles and chilly chicken was superb. I personally prefer momos without any spices, still it was good (it had spices in it). Hope I had an option without any spices. Awesome staff. Will come back again soon!

I have been a connoisseur of Indian cuisine for decades. I have visited some of the best Indian restaurants in the tri-state area. Today was my first time dining in Jewel of Himalaya. I have NEVER had such amazing Indian food as I had tonight. The channa Sag, chicken korma, lamb-lentil-cauliflower-rice kheer-basmati rice dish was mind blowing. The Channa Sag…the CHANNA SAG…I am in love! I couldn’t compliment the chef enough. I am the pickiest of all people when it comes to food. I am blunt and honest and very judgmental when it comes to food. This place will become a broken record to my family. We will go again, again, again, again, again, and again. I strongly urge everyone to visit this restaurant. There was a table of many Indian woman celebrating an event towards the back. When they were leaving they were all professing that this restaurant has better food than their mothers back in India! They actually all agreed to that statement…wow. I told my wife the chef touched my soul.

JoH is a quality run establishment from top to bottom. High quality dishes in am equally high quality atmosphere that speaks to the effort put into this location. The food is wonderful w/flavors spanning across the Nepali region of south asia. Think indian/pakistani flavors w/thai n chinese influences. The momos are killer I’m a fan of the fresh ginger… the dishes were all really well executed also. The tikka masala had a rich velvety sauce that really slapped and the korma had enough cashews in the sauce you could actually taste it. The samosas are a generous size and if I had one knock it was that the boneless chicken in one dish was a lil dry outside of that the gulub jamun was not canned tasting and was just the right finisher. Will return again
