Every day at 8 a.m., we start chopping veggies, soaking beans, and prepping our mesquite-fired grill. Not because we have to, but because we believe in delicious flavors made-to-order, from hand-rolled enchiladas to our sizzling fajitas to guacamole made right at your table. Everything pairs nicely with a grande margarita, and of course, enjoy the always endless chips and salsa.

After a horrid experience last week at the 95th street location, we decided to stop in the Town Center location today to compare. The service today was MUCH better than 95th. Like day and night! Food was the usual decent TexMex. Good job OTB Town Center!

Love the tacos and the flour tortillas. Always my first pick when I go.

My family and I stood there for 5-10 minutes while 6 employees looked at us and casually walked by. No acknowledgement of our presence verbally or otherwise. Aside from the 10 tables already seated, there wasn’t any wait. Let me be clear, the wait time was not the issue. I’ve waited an hour or more at places who were actively interested in seating me. End of story, we left. If it was too much for them to simply say, “Hi, I’ll be with you in a moment”, I couldn’t imagine the dining experience improving from there. I’ve worked in food service for years and ANYONE who has a job works in customer service, and can tell you that, valuing your customer’s presence goes a long way in making a pleasant experience. We weren’t expecting the whole wait staff to fall all over themselves for our gracing them with our presence, just a simple “hello” would have sufficed.

Still in the restaurant and we may never leave. Horrible service, my food wasn’t even edible. My husband and daughters food were fine but we definitely won’t waste our money again here. Edited to add after seeing this the GM from several other On The Borders in KC area called me and this location is now closed. He apologized and sent us a gift card to recoup the money we spent that night, which we will use at the Lee’s Summit location. It’s always been good.

Appalling service. Out large group made reservations ahead of time and were seated generally in the same area. The time span of when our orders were placed ranged from about 20 minutes to an hour and a half. I personally ordered an hour and a half after being seated and did not get food for another hour after that. After about 45 minutes(after ordering) I went looking for help from the manager or anyone that could help. Near the kitchen a woman was making tortillas and pretty much told me that we were out of luck and just had to wait. We later figured out that was the manager, and I use the term loosely. The restaurant was not completely overwhelmed with customers, I would call it a typical afternoon crowd. Appalling management, decent food. Never going to one of these restaurants again.

I’m not sure what has happened with this location, as it’s been around for years, however, based on my last two experiences, I will not be going back. The service and overall attitude of (some of) the servers and the manager on-duty, were horrendous. On both of these occasions, the restaurant wasn’t even half full, yet we were met with unfriendly service, untimely waits, and overall sub-par quality. When expressing our frustration to the server and manager, we were met with attitude and disregard. This was all over a simple bowl of tortilla soup and some chips and salsa. Can’t be that difficult of an order…. Can we get a Jose Pepper’s at this location instead?

We were seated outside just before 5:00PM and before the “crowd” on their patio. Our waiter was busy with everyone else but our table of two. Our food was delayed in delivery and came out with the table of two beside us who arrived a good 15 minutes after we did! My food was COLD my husbands was barely warm. And the waiter couldn’t be bothered to refill chips, salsa or water. We asked to have my meal removed from the check as I couldn’t eat it and was not willing to wait for more cold food to come out after my husband would have finished his meal. So of course he took another 10 minutes to get the check to us!

Their food was on point everything was exactly the way it should have been and it all was delicious. The staff was great they kept waters refilled chips salsa everything going and if there was a slight delay one of the other staff members with step in and feel the need of the customer. Even the manager went around and refilled waters see two people got salsa removed plates he did exactly what a manager should he helped everyone work as a team to make the customers happy and it works by the way his name is Daniel S. He is the general manager and all of his staff are awesome! We will be going back!

Our food was great here. I ordered a To Go order and went to pick it up and waited for 15 minutes along with two other guests to be acknowledged by someone to pick up my order. That was just a “someone will be right with you”. I feel like I could have ordered, ate and left in the time it took to get my order to go.

What has gone wrong with Mexican food? All of these places seem so interested and freshening things up, that they overdo it with cilantro. I’m one of those people that cilantro tastes like soap, if I wanted my queso cheese dip to look like salad, I would have just ordered a salad. The service at this restaurant was good, quick and friendly.
