Atmosphere and service were great. The food however was not. I ordered Bhindi (Okra), and it was not fresh or firm. The pods were over mature. The other problem was the fat content. The dish was too oily. No one, and I mean no one should be having that amount of oil. Roti was good. They added more than 20% tip to the check on their own, which I did not appreciate. I was just by myself, one person.

Small and cute place to have a meal with a few friends. The dishes are packed with flavor and made well, shown in the representation for the soul food feel of this cuisine. The seasonal cooking adds to the changing flavors of this excellent menu selection. I think the portions are perfect so that you aren’t stuffed after a full meal.

Amazing food and service! Not a typical Indian restaurant with overcooked mush- this is NEXT LEVEL Indian! Completely worth the price for such an amazing experience!

We went here with a family of six, did reservation upfront. The atmosphere is nice with Indian music in the background. The food here taste really good but the quantity is less for the price (expect $50 – $80 pp). We ordered Dahi puri (recommended), aloo tikki chaat (recommended), samosa chaat (recommended), Malai chicken tikka (taste is good but you get 3 small pieces for $15.99), bhindi do pyaza (recommended), garlic daal fry (average), laal maas (recommended), garlic naan (recommended). The deserts and drinks were also amazing.

Food was good, little pricey compared to portion size but with everything being expensive it’s okay. Good ambience.

Fantastic food and really friendly service. The servers, bartender and manager are all attentive and kind. Once I walked in looking like a drowned rat from a rainstorm and they warmly welcomed me, then discreetly placed a stack of napkins near me on the bar. Classy.

Really delicious (if pricey) Indian Food! The first time I came here was during COVID, and that was only for takeout, so this has been on my list for a while to come back to.

I made a reservation at 10:15 which a reasonable person would assume means I should be there by 10:15. Why is it that 30 mins prior i get a call asking me to be there earlier than 10:15 because the kitchen is closing? I called back to let them know that i would be arriving exactly on time and thus would have to cancel my reservation. This is not an acceptable customer experience. You should not be accepting 10:15 reservations if you can’t accommodate them.

We visited during restaurant week and WOW it was busy, but the owner was very gracious and accommodated us at the bar while we waited for a table. And it was so worth the wait. The Palak Paneer was maybe the best thing I’ve eaten in the past year. I can’t stop thinking about it. I even ordered palak paneer takeout from another reputable Indian food joint, but it doesn’t compare to Pappe’s. The rest of the food on the menu was just as good, and after trying my vegetable samosas everybody in the group wishes they had also ordered it. Overall, the meal left my friends and I feeling very content, satisfied, and dreaming about our next Pappe visit!
