So… there I was… AGAIN!!!… Driving around on a Late Summer’s Day in August… with the temperatures in the mid 80°s… But the heat… the heat was SO HOT… that when I drove by a GROUP OF TREES… I wanted to stop… and cool off under them… But suddenly… I became SUSPICIOUS of the Trees and I did not stop… YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY…(you are going to love this answer)… BECAUSE THEY SEEMED A BIT…….. ** SHADY **……………… OK, OK… call off your guard dog… I will show myself out… But first let me tell you about my lunch at Steak & Shake… It Was FANTASTIC… There were lovely cooks preparing the meal… but no waitress to seat me. They have a New Kiosk to place your order. And then you can seat yourself where ever you would like to sit. They prepare everything fresh… and you can taste it… They have the 4 for $4 Special. Plus I was just in time to take advantage of the Half Price HAPPY HOUR Weekdays from 2pm to 4pm… Hey… maybe you too can pay them a visit… They have really cool music to listen to while waiting… or you can try to win some stuffed toys… But you will leave very happy and still have enough to add more gas to your gas tank to come back and visit them again.

I have not been to a Steak ‘n Shake for many years and did not realize it was all self service. That was a shock. I stumbled through the kiosk menu and got a double cheeseburger but could not figure out how to order the condiments I wanted on it. Also ordered onion rings. The place was virtually empty like a ghost town and my burger was done quickly while I watched. The burger was almost as good as I remembered but the atmosphere was just bizarre. The meal was less costly than McDs or any other fast food restaurant so I guess I will go back again. Just not the same feeling here without table service but that is the way of the world now

It was all do-it-yourself. Two people in the food preparation area who ignored customers while you had to enter your orders using a kisok, and get drinks, condiments etc. yourself. Menu was extremely limited compared to the other locations we’d been to, probably because of the ordering “system”. The place was virtually empty while there probably due to the overall ‘cold’ atmosphere. Never going back. If all locations are going to this kind of place, good luck!

When I stopped into the establishment there was only one lady working and she was doing her best today gradu orders cooking and assembling everything I give her props for working as hard and is patient for one person. She was really great at being assertive to the needs and saying that unfortunately she’s the only person working here but I understood and she was getting everything done overall the food came out fantastic thank you!

I love steak and shake, but hate that it is only order by machine, no longer a waitress. The chicken tenders are no longer available, which stinks. The food we had was good and fresh. The place had many dirty tables and floors. We will still go back because its yummy every now and again

Not only did the “frisco melt” (pictured) not have any frisco sauce, but it was not cooked completely. The fries & double cheeseburger I ordered as well, were not cooked completely either. AND I waited in the drive-thru line for at least 30 minutes before receiving my food. The service was mediocre AT BEST – in fact, the server who gave me my food was rude, AND before receiving my food, I saw them go out to their car – in their uniform & all. They sat out there for at least 10 minutes. I don’t care what happened to this franchise – whether due to COVID or not – but they either need to get their s*** together, or they need to close. This is pathetic.
