Fine dining at its best. Dakotas came highly recommended, and trust me, it didn’t disappoint. The restaurant is definitely worth the 5 Star rating. The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable. The appetizers were spot on. Our entrées were perfect. The temperatures were exactly light we ordered and seasoned perfectly. The sides were tasty as well. When I’m back in town, I will be paying Dakotas another visit.

Nice location, good parking, and service. The waiter was very knowledgeable and gave good recommendations. The lighting was dim and allowed for a nice atmosphere. The food was ok. I had the oysters which were delicious, and I definitely recommend it, i also got the salmon, and it was a salty. The drinks were really well done as well.

I was previously employed in fine dining so exceptional customer service was our top priority. First I had sat in the bar lounge area waiting on my guest to arrive. It took about ten minutes for someone to ask me have I been taken care of. There was all these waiters and waitresses fraternizing with each other and it wasn’t that busy. (I completely understand if you’re busy I would have to wait my turn obviously being a server) So the bartender assuming this is not his section asked me if I had been taken care of. I told him no. He asked if I needed anything and I told him a water. He had a woman bring me the water and she had the fakest uncomfortable smile on her face like I didn’t belong there vibe. Then I noticed they were taking care of other guests in the lounge that sat after me…. A lady walked by and asked me did I need anything with a blank stare on her face. I said “may I get a menu please?” I’m hungry and pregnant I was ready to eat! lol. However, after ten minutes or so looking at the menu I had not been properly greeted, like “Hello my name is… and Ill be taking care of you today (smile or pleasant tone)” I could’ve left and never came back or complained to a manager. However I quietly excused myself into the dining area. The area was really classy soft and clean. My waiter was a really nice and knew the menu. The food was greatttt! The Brussels sprouts were my favorite part along with the Bernaise sauce. The ribeye had a lot of marble in it. The waiter recommended if I didn’t want asparagus and potatoes that I can get Brussels. I felt like he went beyond taking my order to give me recommendations. My friend and I enjoyed our experience on the other side and yes we tipped him well. Over all that’s the reason why they received 3 stars rather then 4.5. I had called the manager the next day in a pleasant tone and she was very understanding. She said she was going to check the cameras and talk to the bar manager and cocktail waitresses about the incident. Definitely give her responses a 5 star review handling guests with complaints. She apologized about the service and asked me if the food was okay and about everything else. I wish I could recall her name and waiters to give them the praise. However I will be back on the dining side rather than the bar area. Hate to be a negative Nancy

A great dinning experience. The food was good not fabulous but good. Our waiter Craig was fantastic. A free dessert since it was our anniversary. Definitely worth the go for a special occasion.

Some of the food is great, but the $25 lobster roll was the worst I’ve ever had. The lobster bisque and filet medallions were great, but the lobster roll was almost like a liquidy mayonnaise. I couldn’t even finish it. My took one bite and said, “disgusting.” The crabcake was decent, but took over thirty minutes to get. This place has always been hit or miss with me and I’ve been here around 10 times. Oh yeah, I know lobster rolls.

Everything was just on point. Very nice, great entrees and desserts. The bread pudding was yum. The one thing that made us laugh was the side dish carrots. It was literally one whole carrot. So be aware.

Fabulous place for the party, celebration or just a quiet dinner for two. Extraordinary wait and hostess staff who are attentive to every detail. They are punctual, accurate and ready to please. The food however is “off the charts” good! Steak, seafood and appetizers are all scrumptious. Wonderful menu selections. You will not be disappointed.

My husband and I ate here for our anniversary. The food and drinks were delicious and our server was awesome. I was a little annoyed that my salmon wasn’t bigger for the price. That was the smallest salmon I’ve ever had at a restaurant. For $30 I expected more. The biggest problem was that they seated us in a section with about 3 larger parties. They were very loud and ruined our “romantic” anniversary dinner. I also saw in the reviews that some couples were given a free dessert for their anniversary but we didn’t get anything and it being our anniversary wasn’t even acknowledged even though I put it on the reservation. This is an expensive restaurant which we already knew beforehand. We ended up paying around $160 including tip.

Where to start… We’ve been quite a few times over the years. Recently they’ve taken the two best things off the menu (Twice baked potatoes, and Crab). If you remove those options, and those were only done decently half the time, it’s pretty Sub-Par at best . We’ve been to the Dakota’s in Dallas, and it’s a world away from the one in Tyler. People want use it being a smaller town for a excuse to be mediocre, but that’s a cop-out. They have the capacity to be better, yet choose to be mediocre. The bar carries a limited amount of decent liquors, mostly well. Overall it’s sad that people put up with mediocrity.
