Loved our time at Shinjuku. Definitely get reservations because there were limited tables. The pork buns were fabulous. The takoyaki (octopus fritters) melted in my mouth. Sushi was great. The old fashioned was a little sweet for my taste but house saki was just what I needed.

Working lunches are much more sweet here! We sampled a couple of rolls, a bento box, and a chicken bowl. All delightful! I’ll have to go back for a happy hour

Tam had literally the BEST customer service, so genuine, kind and also on point. I felt soo lucky to have her as our server… I can not stress that enough, individuals like that are great for business. If I went back here I would want Tam as my server only. As for the menu, I am vegetarian and there was a vegan menu as well as vegetarian menu available which was so awesome! The fries did not have enough of that awesome dipping sauce, they should serve double that sauce. The edamame was okay. A lot of grease and oil between the fries and edamame, it was too much. Definitely my favorite vegetarian sushi I have ever had, it was not bland at all. The reason why I am giving 3 stars is because the atmosphere was not worth the price and with an ankle/foot injury it was not clear what so ever where the entrance was, after driving around the building twice I finally found parking but could not seem to find the front door. Once I did get to the front door it was locked with a sign saying the entrance has been relocated to the back, which was too much for my foot injury. By the time I was able to finally get a reservation after an hour wait and then finding the entrance-way, customers were flooding out and the door did not close by itself every time someone left, the door stayed open while we waited to be seated, so kindly I kept closing the door to keep the cold air from coming in. We arrived around 8:15p and felt like all the employees were pushing us out promptly at 10p, which is closing time. The only employee that did not seem rushed was our server. I am not sure why y’all close so early on a Saturday but if you close at 10p it should be a soft close, not all the kitchen and staff ready to go, a hard close, changes the whole experience and did not set well with me. I will not be coming back to this location as it was too pricey all in all for the ambiance, this restaurant in my opinion could only work in this city because there isn’t much competition to choose from. Hope that this critical review can help, I am just very honest with my opinion. With love!

This is decent sushi spot, albeit limited in menu and availability. Great option for dining in and taking out. However, the staff always greets you or approaches you as if you’re crazy and not welcome when entering. As if you stumbled in by accident. Ease of access to the restaurant is also pretty poor, since they moved the entrance from the front of the building on Magnolia to the backdoor by the dumpsters and drains next to the fancy new paid parking garage (to which to my knowledge they do not offer any parking assistance for, so DO NOT park there). Great little spot, but pretty poor thinking on layout and accessibility.

Alrighty. Came here on Friday just in time for their happy hour. We got the sake salmon, Tok fries, beer braised pork buns, okonomiyaki, and chicken karaage.

We’ve been wanting to try this place for some time and finally did realizing we hadn’t missed out on much. They state no heavy sauces, avocado etc but they either need that or some salt. The miso ramen had barely any flavor outside of the pork belly. The spicy ramen wasn’t that spicy but had good flavor. They both had a good amount noodle/broth in them. The onigiri were huge which made it difficult to eat but husband really liked them. Great customer service but food was just ok compared to a hanabi ramen or blue sushi.

You have to go for the Omakase experience and ask for chef Chris if he is available. I cannot believe how good this experience was. You order your drinks, give him a price cap and any items or ingredients you want to stay away from, and then you sit back and food is delivered to you that the chef thinks is the best option. Chef Chris has several of his own personal creations that you won’t find anywhere else including the one in the photo with the apple flower. I’ve had a good bit of sushi in my life and I’ve been to some extremely expensive sushi restaurants in the past and nothing compares to the flavor, presentation, and service that we recieved at Shinjuku. I will definitely be returning and bringing all of my friends who love sushi and I suggest you do the same.

Server was attentive & had great recommendations. Surprisingly, my favorites were the swiss chard (fresh without being bitter) & wild mushrooms. I mixed the sauces with a bowl of rice & was pretty content scarfing that down. My next favorite was the hama chili (another server recommendation). The fish was sliced perfectly thin & had a slight kick from the chili.
