Stopped here to get some breakfast when I went on vacation with my family in June of this year. This was one of the only places in the area that was opened for breakfast. We were seat pretty quickly. But the wait for the food was absolutely ridiculous. It seemed to take forever, granted they only had one server worker and all tables were full. The food was ok. The atmosphere was amazing, we were seated outside and got to hear the creek running which was nice. And there is not a lot of room to park. It’s first come first serve.

I honestly can’t say many good things about this restaurant. I wish I could because it’s literally one of the only places that is open for breakfast in the area. It took quite a while for someone to seat us first off. Then, once seated, it took probably ten minutes for us to give our drink orders and then to get our drinks. After we ordered our food, we literally waited 50 minutes to get some French Toast and a Livermush, egg and cheese biscuit! The food was OK but it wasn’t worth the 50 minute wait. We couldn’t tell if the service was so slow because they needed more help or if they just didn’t care. We really wanted to sit outside on the deck because that is advertised as an attraction but they said it was closed and we couldn’t go out there. No reason as to why. The restaurant wasn’t very clean either. It was very humid inside and everything was sticky. There were bugs in the lights and my wife had a spider drop down right in front of her as she was eating. I never like to say this about a place but I can honestly say we will never go back eat here.

It is a lovely home style restaurant by the river. However I suggest you don’t sit on the patio because the carpenter bees are at full speed burrowing and the wood shavings tend to fall into your food. The food was okay, nothing that I was impressed with. The gentleman did handle the bee situation by not allowing me to pay for the food that we did consume, which shows he cares about your experience while there. Overall, I rate 3 stars for the care that was shown to us by the gentleman. But, if your looking for food quality I would say a 2 star wish I could of given more. We drove to this location specifically for this restaurant and it just wasn’t what I expected.

When I walked in, I immediately caught an unsettling smell. Everything felt sticky and unclean. We decided to give it a chance since we were very hungry. But that was a mistake. The food had a weird taste. I couldn’t eat it. It turns my stomach just thinking about trying to eat it, because I can remember that taste that was on everything. The waitress and waiter both looked like they hadn’t bathed in a week. And the bathroom was disgusting. It looked like it never gets cleaned which is par for everything in this place. Gross!

The food was great! Atmosphere was great! I like to drink coffee with breakfast. The waiter brought coffee first thing. I asked for a cup of milk to use in coffee. By the time he brought milk, coffee was cold. I asked for more coffee. He would sit new guests, then not return for 10 minutes. I kept trying to get his attention, but he wouldn’t look our way. Never asked if we needed anything. When we left I took the rest of my milk to register and got coffee to go, since he wouldn’t bring us more coffee at the table.

We were glad that Genny’s was open as we passed through Chimney Rock Village leaving from Brevard. We had the French Toast and the BLT sandwich. Both meals were delicious. The Hostess was friendly and ensured we were taken care of. We always look forward to eating here when we visit the mountains.

No pride in presentation…Place was extremely dirty…didnt fully notice u til after we ordered our food. The food was overpriced for what you get. Although the fried okra was really good, the BBQ sandwich was terrible….meat tasted like it had been frozen for a while and microwaved when ordered. Will not eat there again.

My 1st time here and first and foremost it is in dire need of remodeling!! You know how some places are old but they are clean? Well this looked so bad it even looked and felt dirty. We sat outside with the creek view but the outside needs remodeling also. The bbq was horrible. It took a very long time to get our food. The waiter was very friendly and so was everyone else but yall definitely need to upgrade and get that food better!! Not impressed and won’t be back. Sorry :(( oh and the
