The Wharf is our go-to place for fabulous family celebrations like Easter, Mothers Day and Christmas. Our recent visit on Easter Sunday was a wonderful experience. We were seated promptly and our server Martha was absolutely terrific and made our young daughter feel incredibly welcome. The menu had children’s options which was terrific and the food was thoroughly enjoyed by all the people in our group. Martha was very attentive so incredibly friendly. All of our dining needs were met and the food was beyond outstanding!

I went there on Mon 4pm, pretty quiet, easy parking by the beach. Kim is really welcoming and offered to roll up the window shield for me, she even turned on the heater over my head to make sure I’m not cold from the wind. It’s such a wonderful day with a little sea breeze. Quiet and Peaceful.

We went here with my husband and my mom the day before Easter Sunday (on Saturday) in the hope of avoiding peak times. Restaurant was half empty with a relatively small group being served apart from us. Couldn’t get a seat by the window (“reserved”) so we sat by the wall with still a nice view of the restaurant. Ordered two half chickens and one sirloin steak. Took forever to get the order (they apologized citing how busy they were with the other group) and then brought our order. Chicken was burnt and so were potatoes. Ash grey color throughout. Meat despite being ordered medium was well done and also dry and chewy (hardly sirloin steak quality). The waitress went on a charm offensive: is everything satisfactory? We had two options – tell the truth or eat. After a long wait we were so hungry we ate what was still edible and smiled back. Conclusion: this restaurant sells water view and interior design, but not much in the way of food. Don’t recommend, especially not on holidays.

Paradise in the afternoon. What a treasure. How lucky are we to have such gem of a spot to receive the best of care, either with neighbors or friends from far away.? There really isn’t a bad seat but I’ve been fortunate to be in smaller groups so sitting near the rail on the veranda has been a consistent placement. Before you even arrive, dedicated staff are as pleasant and professional as can be, from valet to hotel lobby. Then you get to the reception by bar and it’s as if lovely friends with welcoming smiles have been waiting for you.

Had a great lunch here on a Friday afternoon in Sept. We sat out on the patio overlooking Long Island sound. All our dishes were presented beautifully & tasted great. The Chopino I had was one of the best I can remember having. It was chuck full of seafood & the broth was fantastic. The grilled bread was a welcome addition. I’d recommend this place for special occasions. The lunch menu is a bit limited & don’t expect things to be cheap there is only a limited number of restaurants in Connecticut with a view like this so it’s definitely worth it.

The staff at this establishment went above and beyond to make our stay which was my best friend birthday celebration an extraordinary experience. Shout out to Kate bartender-superb attitude, Kevin our funny, witty, engaged in our service waiter (you rock ), Rebecca at front desk sweet as pie, Brian masseuse magic hands, and the rest of the staff I couldn’t get everyone’s name. I hope to be able to return for a hotel stay and bring my husband and kids, when rates lower.

Unfortunately our first time there and this is what we experienced. As we walk in at 8:50 during the fireworks we were greeted by 2 host who told us they were no longer taking orders for food so we agreed to order 2 glasses of wine at the bar. The bartender served us in plastic cups while everyone else had wine glasses! Then the couple across from us were handed 2 menus. When we proceeded to ask if they could take an order for an appetizer they denied us any food service…because “kitchen was closed” as we clearly heard the lady place her order a minute after we asked! Crazy right. We started to hear fireworks so we stepped outside and we noticed they sat a couple down at this point it’s 9:15 and the couple were handed 2 menus. When I asked them once again how come they got menus and we didn’t they proceeded to say “oh they have an exception” so I responded can we order just an appetizer and they said “no” and walked away. This is how they’ll treat you if you’re Hispanic. Please keep this in mind if you decide to come here, they won’t treat you well at all. If you’re white I’m positive they’ll treat you wonderful.
