Since I ordered a sandwich that made my tummy feel poorly I decided to stay away from this establishment. On a later date, I had a sweet craving and remembered when I had a good berry pie ala mode there. So I thought I would try Sweetwater for dessert. And boy was I wrong. I asked the waitress what kind of berries were in the pie and she muttered something about blueberries and acted as if she had no idea what was in it. I said, “so it has only blueberries? She said no it has strawberries etc. Then the waitress brought me a frozen cold slice of pie without ice cream or whip cream. I told her the menu said it came homemade whip cream.

Of all the food we are in Santa Fe this was the worst. Pancakes weren’t done. Breakfast tacos tasted fine but immediately started upsetting my stomach after the first few bites. The rest of the day my stomach was very weak until I ate supper and started feeling better. The restaurant wasn’t busy or appear understaffed. Coffee was good. Service was good. Restaurant seemed clean and pleasant atmosphere.

The food sounded appetizing on the menu. Unfortunately, when we ate it, it severely lacked flavor. Even just a little bit of salt would have gone a far way. The tofu for the vegan burrito was just glistening white without seasoning. The service was friendly, and they tried to be attentive. The atmosphere was also pleasant.

The food was good, but sadly we won’t be returning. We arrived almost immediately after they opened at 5:20pm on Saturday. When they saw we had a toddler they seated us at a table right by the entrance and hostess stand that was clearly not meant for diners, but whatever we don’t care about that. What gives this place so few stars is the fact that it took OVER AN HOUR for our two dishes to come out. At 5pm. We even made sure to place our food order the moment a waiter approached our table in an effort to get our toddler fed, but the dishes didn’t come out until almost 6:30. No one checked on us, no water refills. I’m bummed because I’d heard good things and wanted to like this place but the absurdity of the wait time is a major deterrent for ever returning. We ended up boxing everything and taking it to go, eating in our car while driving home to put our kid to bed on time. Also NOT KID FRIENDLY.
