I can’t believe this is the first time here at Anthony’s Clam House! Everything was exceptional! The place was hopping on a Friday night. And even though it was a busy night, service was top-notch! Food was exactly how it should taste. I can’t wait to find another opportunity to spend more time here!

This place attracted my attention by their interesting menu and low prices. My expectations were low, as I expected to find a reason for the low prices, but I was happily wrong. We arrived without a reservation on a very busy Friday evening, but the two of us were seated immediately. The place looked clean and modern with a New Yorkish vibe. Our waitress, Julie, appeared right away and impressed me all through our time there. She was friendly, polite, warm, attentive and above all, professional. The bread was tasty, although not warm and came with not only the usual oil and herbs, but pats of butter, which I always prefer. Clams are obviously a specialty of the house and were offered in many forms, but I ordered the fiocchi ($16), small pasta pouches stuffed with pear and cheese and topped with sauteed bacon and onions in a cream sauce, and it was delicious. My partner got meatball and sausage on spaghetti marinara ($14). The spaghetti was surprisingly and pleasantly al dente, with a very nice, basic marinara. The sausage was very tasty, although the house-made meatball was a little rubbery. The unusually low prices drew me in, and the good food and professional service will bring me back — soon.

Outstanding hidden gem in Fort Lauderdale. Extremely accommodating for people with dairy allergies like me: you know how difficult it is to eat at an Italian restaurant without cheese and butter in the food. Well this is not the case: delicious mussels, wonderful seafood salad, with a very professional and courteous staff. Unlike other restaurants in the area, the prices are phenomenal, with high quality food and wine.

Our server was attentive and timed our food perfectly. The grilled octopus and the beet and orange salad were outrageous delicious and dessert was the best indulgence. Thank you for making our birthdays special.

Update – we came here for my birthday celebration. Everytime we’ve come here, everything has been spot on. This time was a real disappointment. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed before she even came to our table. I get it, I was a waitress for many years so I’m usually understanding but this was a classic definition of bad service. It took her 4 trips to bring 5 drinks. It took her 2 trips to take our appetizer order (a 2nd trip was apparently warranted because she had to drop off a dirty fork before she could finish getting our apps down). It took her 3 trips to bring out 5 meals and when 1 of our guests told her his steak was undercooked she asked him if he wanted the restaurant to finish cooking it or make a new one…(?!) To which he responded ‘neither just keep it’. To top everything off, my husband specifically told her twice we wanted tiramisu for dessert, and at the end, she blurted out the “surprise” was on its way. Well that was genius and definitely ruined the “surprise”. Additionally, there were 2 other celebrations there; one was a 4 top and the other was at least a 6 top, they both got a tiramisu but we got 5 cannolis and an Italian cheesecake which we didn’t ask for. The only reason my husband mentioned a birthday to her was because they always gave a tiramisu (which i love) but cannolis and Italian cheesecake are not for me and not what he requested. If she or the restaurant wanted to upgrade the dessert, I shouldn’t have to pay for what I didn’t ask for. She was not attentive to our table and if we even decide to come back, I will walk out if Jamie is our server. Our usual server was on vacation and Jamie should really be taught waitress etiquette. She was sloppy in her looks and waitressing style. You can have great food, but if the service sucks, so does the experience. I’m not in a hurry to go back and I definitely will no longer recommend this restaurant. Unlike other visits, no one said thanks for coming this time and it’s not like we were unpleasant or rude so not sure what happened in regards to service tonight (7/2/23).

Pleasantly surprised with how much we enjoyed happy hour and dining here. Extremely impressed with the well trained staff from the friendly bartenders to Jamie, our server. They made it such a great experience that we quickly returned with a large group a week later and it was just as good. The food is on point and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant!
