Michelin dim sum spot in Chinatown. Came here for dim sum with a couple of other friends. They give you a ticket and will call your number once your table is ready. It took approximately 20 minutes for us to get a spot on a Sunday morning around 11:30am. Indoor dining only. You order through a paper menu. There is tea service. Credit cards accepted. It is good for big groups but the space is cramped.

First time here even though I was born and raised in the city. There are just so many places to eat, you have to force yourself to go somewhere you’ve never been.

I honestly don’t know why this place has such low stars. People who don’t know if you go to a dim sum place and the service isn’t that great and they’re kind of rude to you. Those are the best places with the good food. But some people want it all I guess.

This is the best dim sum I’ve ever had. I’ve been to the most expensive dim sum in San Francisco and there’s no comparison. This is where the locals eat. If you ask somebody there is always a line out the door, so be prepared but it is definitely worth the wait.

Authentic Hong Kong Dim Sum restaurant experience in San Fran! Love most of the dimsum. The prawns are deliciously crunchy and fresh! Carrot cake and salted egg bun is hmm average.. but prawns chee cheong fan, crusted char siew bun, chicken feet, vegetables, congee, etc are super delicious.

The dim sum was average. The fried taro puff was different from the picture in the menu and was a little bland. The stuffed mushrooms were good. The shrimp dumpling and siu mai were average. The baked bbq pork buns looked great but unfortunately we didn’t order it.

Restaurant reopened after renovation. It is brighter and cleaner. It opens at 10 AM. By 11:30 AM, the tables are usually filled up even on a weekday.

Lai Hong was previously one of the best dim sum restaurants in the city and provided good quality foods with reasonable prices. However, the quality of foods has declined significantly along with the poor service. The dim sum were way over cooked, seasoning was not right, and the order was wrong with inattentive services. Not sure what’s happening with the kitchen and operation, but the recently experience was pretty disappointing and would probably never come back.
