For months, my husband and I have been dying to try our new local Steak N Shake despite mixed reviews we’ve heard from family and friends. Finally we were able to give it a try. To say we were appalled, is an understatement. If I could rate less than one star I would. All of the tables were dirty. Both trash can stations were overflowing. The staff got my order wrong and didn’t know if they even had ketchup or not. What little staff interaction we had was horrible, especially the young lady at the drive through who was constantly sending dirty looks to patrons inside. I cannot see this location lasting very long. I live in the middle of town in Nicholasville and will gladly waste the extra gas to go to the Hamburger location. Before the Karen’s jump on my case, I have worked fast food several times in my life, also have several years management experience, and would never allow my establishment to stoop to this level. I had hoped issues we’ve heard was due to it being such a new establishment, apparently that is not the case. Sad…

Waited in the drive-through for about 5 minutes, but nothing, so I went inside and ordered my food, I got it decently quick, but the inside looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in weeks. I get home, the food is lukewarm at most and tastes like it was made yesterday, the patty was dry and hard, it was honestly just terrible, borderline inedible. I definitely will not be back, this location is SAD compared to the Hamburg location. I usually NEVER leave reviews, but this one was worth my time.

The drive threw is never really busy but I stop there 2 or 3 times a week to get a happy hour milkshake for 2 but of the last 10 times I’ve been I ordered the Reese Chocolat peanut butter milkshake 5 of those times they gave me the regular reese’s cup milkshake I never have time to have them fix it cause I’m busy but there paying the people who work there 15/hr for that much I’d expect more than 50% accuracy. Also don’t go inside the place is mess stick to the drive threw

We had gotten 2 orders of cheese fries, and the fries came out with no cheese. We told the server, and he went back and got us 2 small cups of cheese that was only halfway filled. Which wasn’t even enough to cover a small fry. I went back up to get 2 more cups of cheese, and that still wasn’t enough. I’ve been to other steak n shakes that were a lot better, and I know how much cheese is supposed to be on the fries

This location is very slow, but the food is always delicious and at the window the super sweet attendant (who I feel is probably management/owner) offered me kids paper hats/foldable cards I didn’t ask for, presumably to help entertain my kids, because she saw my carseats in the back. I didn’t appreciate it as much as I should have because my kids actually loved them and wanted to wear their paper hats to bed. We’ll be regular customers for sure.

This location only has automated order entry. It isn’t well marked and I watched confused customers sit down and expect table service and others couldn’t figure out how to order. There are four kiosks, but only two were working. It was slow and felt rushed because the unit next to me said closed. Why not have all order taking kiosks on all of the time?

Took way too long at the drive through……they were not overly busy! 15 mins for 4 milkshakes is absurd!!! . The girl at the drive-through acted like she would prefer to be absolutely any place other than there. She wasn’t necessarily rude, but certainly didn’t want to be there. I tried to pay with Apple Pay, and she said that if I wanted to pay with Apple Pay, I would have to come inside. That makes zero sense to me! I’m not sure why a new building/business would not have Apple Pay option for the drive-through. I won’t be visiting this one again!

I ordered sweet tea. The girl at the drive-thru window gave me soda. When I told her she had given me soda, she replied, “You ordered tea.” I said yes, sweet tea. She said, “Is that not tea?” I again told her it was soda. She mumbled something else and had another girl give me the correct drink. She handed the tea out without speaking. I said thank you, to which I received no reply. Not sure why they are so rude but at least the food and shake was good.

There’s a bit of a wait and they have not had any milk shake straws the last couple of times I’ve visited here. They give you soda straws to eat them with instead of the big paper ones. The milk shake is too thick for the soda straw.
