Fauna, formerly Starr Boggs, is the latest restaurant from the Rooted Hospitality Group which owns and operates Cowfish, Rumba, RHUM and flora. Fauna is now open serving fresh seafood, prime steaks, craft cocktails, and wines from both old world and new.
Offering Dinner every evening starting at 4PM with a special prix fixe menu Monday-Thursday from 4PM-6PM. Enjoy Fauna Weekend Brunch on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 11:30AM.

The food and service at fauna was extraordinary. For starters we had the lobster bisque, Long Island mussels, kale salad and flatbread. Our dinners included the chicken for two dish, the baked salmon and crab cakes special for the night. The wine list isn’t long, but the choices are sufficient to satisfy even the most discerning palate. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be returning soon!!

This place gets a 2 star for the wine and the desert. The steps of service needs improvement and the food is uninspired. Our waiter forgot to offer a taste after opening our bottle, never bothered to ask how our food was throughout 3 courses. We thought maybe he’ll ask before handing us the check, but he forgot to do so again. Now the food: the oysters were good briny but slightly creamy, clean finish. The lamb chops were dry and tasteless, the lamb died for nothing. The chef should try using thicker cuts and cook to medium rare unless otherwise specified. Use 2 chops if you want people to share, but cutting up one portion into 3 unequal thin cuts makes it difficult to control temperature. The tuna was over cooked. It should be ruby in the middle but it was brownish color on the inside. Duck rice had too much oil. He desert was warm pecan pie that was actually quite good. I think these issues can be improved on with better quality control in the kitchen and better floor management and staff training.

Dominick took great care of us. Her recommendations were on point. I loved the hibiscus flower on the sangria . We had for apps were the lobster bisque and shrimp. For mains we had the steak and duck pasta . Oh my gosh delicious . We end up with the chocolate mouse and the cheese cake. Loved everything. We’ll be back 🙂

I never write bad reviews. However, our waiter was RUDE! And he basically gave Burger King service. Forgot to give us plates with our appetizer. Then when our main dish came he handed the plate to my dining companion instead of placing it in front of her. He rushed is along, cut us off when we asked questions and was generally not a nice person. We had the swordfish and a salmon dish which was definitely edible (not wow) but not worth the hefty price tag.

We had an amazing time at Fauna, WHB’s new fine dining restaurant, in the same place where Starr Boggs had been. The same group that owns Flora owns this one. Everything was well worth the price. Excellent service, excellent wait staff and hostess. Food was at another level. Delicious, fresh and tasty. We had the steak. The artisan bread basket is worth getting. Whipped potatoes and brussel sprouts on the side. Real good dessert of zeppole and cappuccino. Highly recommend this place. Dress nice. You don’t have to dress up but the setting and food calls for it, in my opinion.
