A late review but after trying other Omakase places around, I can confidently tell you that this is the BEST Omakase experience you can get in Atlanta. Haya San (the chef) is very knowledgeable, and unlike other chefs who are relatively quiet during the preparation, he tells you everything about the food, and his life, and answers all your questions. The price tag is there, but the quality (and quantity) of the food, and the chef’s engagement truly make it worth it.

Hayakawa sushi bar is the first place I have ever experienced Omakase. The food is so fresh and delicious no questions about. The interior and elegant atmosphere is so delightful. It is just amazing. Haya San is a very charming and entertaining person. Big thanks to my kids for such a wonderful gift. @hayakawaatl

Great experience! Definitely a must visit when visiting Atlanta or if you’re a local. Haya San is a gracious host as he brings you on a culinary journey for the evening. We were honored to have been given a culinary tour of his home town through the various dishes, highlighted ingredients from Hokkaido. I would definitely come again. The space is also gorgeous

One of the things that makes Sushi Hayakawa in Atlanta so special is the chef’s extensive experience and expertise. Chef Hayakawa has been in Atlanta for over 30 years, and during that time he has honed his craft and developed a deep understanding of Japanese cuisine.

AN INCREDIBLE intimate Japanese dining experience led by chef Haya San. They import weekly sushi from Japan so you know you’re getting the BEST ingredients and the most authentic experience.

Great experience. As others have said, I think it is the best sushi experience in Atlanta. But if you think it’s ridiculous to pay $1000 for dinner for two, then you should not go. You need to forget about the price and enjoy the experience. If you can’t do that, it’s not for you.

This is hands down the best sushi I’ve ever had. Everything we tried tasted better and better. The chef is a true matter of his craft. Not only was everything delicious but the way they put it together it’s truly art. I’d recommend doing yourself a favor before you go and check their web page. Yes they have some “strict” rules but I feel it’s all to help the experience. You will spend allot of money but it’s worth every cent. The experience was so grand and entertaining. I look forward to my next visit.

Sushi Hayakawa IS Chef Art Hayakawa. Of course there are things to be considered that have serious weight when discussing an evening out for a meal but you come here for the Chef. To start Hayakawa is from Japan and does not let his roots forget him as he regularly goes through the added effort of obtaining items from his homeland. This reason alone should be worthy of a visit and any protein normally unobtainable to me is worth seeking out. He also shown loyalty to us in Georgia and has refused offers to share his wealth with other cities in what I’m assuming would be more lucrative demand. For this I am thankful. A dinner here is an experience and one that deserves your full attention. They have made rules to keep you focused although if you struggle with not checking your Facebook while here then you are at the wrong place. Chef is quite the character and one you appreciate only through sitting with him for a service. It was a blast to interact and for serious fans like myself I can only describe it as star struck. The flavors and textures created are delicate but also deliberate. Similar to French style cooking many take time and layers to develop. However, simple preparations come faster and result in a freshness through the raw fish. There were not as many nigiri courses as expected but was thankfully rewarded with heaps of seafood in other versions. A soup and desert course bookended our meal and rounded out one of my favorite evenings ever.
