At our Chattanooga, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Had the garlic/herb shrimp and fish. Fries were burnt and old. Fish, same. Garlic shrimp was nothing to praise. Lesson learned on my part. Place is usually packed for lunch. Only 3 of us dining. Makes me wonder what happened.

The food was very good. The hospitality was gladly welcomed. I came in around 2 pm on a Wednesday. I didn’t even have to study the menu. I just told the server what I wanted and she pointed out the combo that I needed. And it even had a discount. Most places after lunch hours don’t have discounted prices. But they had 5 all day specials that day, She even brought my plate to my table. That was unexpected surprise. I know I personally thanked her for her service. But I have to give a warm thank you to the ones I didn’t see. Like the cook for that’s making the tasty meals, the people that are cleaning and keeping things shiny and cleaned like new. Certainly beat the competition. I’ll definitely eat here again.

The food is always fresh. But the staff is rarely friendly. And today was the second time I’ve gone through the drive thru about 15 minutes after opening and no one says anything. I wait about 5 minutes bc honestly, they do take a bit sometimes. But no one ever comes to take your order before 11ish lol. Why open at 10:30 if that’s how it’s gonna be?

My husband and I eat later in evening due to work. However when I go there the lights are off place looks like they are closed. When asked why no lights on been told they forgot to turn them on. Every night you forget!!. First few times I thought they were closed till I called them. I think they want people to believe they are closed so less customers at night. Customer service ok they could do better and ensure order is correct and hot.

How sad. I used to like coming to Captain D’S. But after tonight I will not be coming back. Waited way too long on drive thru. Then when I get home, the 2 pieces of chicken was actually 1 piece and 1 bite. No hush puppies. My drink was only 3/4 filled , if that much. The fish was tough. It’s like you guys charge way too much money for the quality of food and service. I will just spend my money elsewhere from now on. It’s like that’s what your staff wants so I will be happy to oblige them with that decision. Too many choices out there where my business would be appreciated.

Waited a very long time for a 2pc fish meal. The younger lady on drive thru was rude and cold. When I finally got the food, the tartar sauce containers were bad. They had a bad taste, texture and smell. This place has really gone down hill in the last several months. Hopefully they get staffed with the right people before Catholic lent when it’s busy on Fridays. You can tell everyone is thinking quality and customer service is down because they are not busy at all lately.
