Susan and Juan at Succotash helped to make our wedding the most perfect weekend we could have possibly imagined. We are so grateful for all their time and patience in working with us over the months leading up to the event and their flexibility in working within our budget. The food itself was phenomenal. Countless guests told us it was the best food they’d ever had at a wedding! Their food is creative, delicious, and can fit any occasion. They were also extremely thoughtful and flexible when it came to accommodating various dietary restrictions. We highly, highly recommend Succotash catering!

The food and service was wonderful with plenty of food! I couldn’t decide and got a sampling (cup) of a few items. Literally ate off others plates and absolutely nothing was bad, even the pineapple tea was such a treat!! I’m so disappointed I got so full I was about to pop that I forgot to order dessert but I’m so looking forward to telling anyone who will listen how good this is! Only feedback is I wish they had fountain drink/free refills with the exception of the house made drinks vs canned.

I enjoyed my lunch at this cute spot. Half brisket po-boy with sides of gumbo and salad plus sangria. All was good. The brisket was tender and better than some other local restaurants I’ve been to. I enjoyed my salad and gumbo but couldn’t eat it all so one side would have been enough for me for lunch. The Sangria was delicious and went well with the meal. I’ll be back and will encourage others to come.

Enjoyed exploring this jewel box of a restaurant with fantastic comfort food. I mean if you go to a place named “Succotash”, you have to try it with crispy brisket burnt ends on top. The fried green tomatoes with BBQ shrimp was another level. Friendly, attentive service, despite being crazy busy. Lucked out on a 50% off a bottle of wine feature on Wednesday night. The layers of flavors, so expertly combined, not to mention the perfect smokiness of the brisket, was top shelf. All reasonably priced. Well curated wine & beer selections to compliment the menu. Chef Juan DiGiulio is a master of Creole/Cajun comfort food. Definitely going back!

This has become my new favorite restaurant! Found it just 4-5 weeks ago and have been multiple times for lunch or dinner with friends. We have loved every dish we’ve had. The fried green tomato plate with succotash, spinach and shrimp is fantastic. Fried shrimp, catfish and oysters are perfection. The gumbo is so good you want to lick the bowl. Someone ordered the fried chicken last night and ate every scrap. We’ve shared two desserts and they are wonderful, especially the unusual bananas foster. While they do not yet have a full ABC license they have beers and wine and they do fun things with wine like a white wine spritz. Their sangria is in a class by itself, made in the authentic fashion with so much fruit that you want a spoon when you finish to enjoy the marinated fruit. So happy to have found this place. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed. We especially like eating on the patio when weather cooperates. Do check the website for days and hours of opening.

Omg! I will say this is one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in Durham. Service is excellent, they really know their stuff when it comes to their menu. It’s definitely worth the wait (20-30mins) for some fresh delicious food! My favorite dish is the sea food gumbo, A must try dish! As well as their well known Brisket!!!

I know the owner on a professional level and let me tell you i am beyond proud of him ,his family and staff members. I had asparagus with this lemon vinaigrette and a eggplant sandwich for my main course and let me tell you something… I am Haitian and we are the truth when it comes to flavors profile, what Chef juan have created is UNIQUE and you can def taste the love and effort put into the meal preparation . As a vegan myself can say they have a great menu selection that will fill you tummy !

Great food, we’re not experts on creole dishes but the flavors were nothing but exceptional. The choice of music was on par with the relaxing and “smooth”, atmosphere. The food came to our table hot and stayed hot until we left. Definitely was not under a heat lamp for extended amounts of time. The chef was very accommodating, checking on customers throughout our meal.

Visited for the first time and the food was wonderful. The wait for the food is long but definitely worth it. I wanted the gumbo but I don’t eat pork and there’s a note on the menu saying they can make it without pork, but it will take an additional 15min. After checking with the cooks, they said they couldn’t do it. A little disappointing since I was very excited about beef sausage and no pork!!
