Even though the Copper Kettle restaurant has been around since 1956 this is my first venture to this establishment in the 67 years it’s been open. When you enter it seems like an old mansion that’s been newly renovated in an upscale way. It’s a place asking to be explored, each room has its unique appeal. Some are small rooms for a family, some are large for a gathering, then there’s the main restaurant and bar spacious yet quaint. The food rivals some of the best 5 star restaurants. I went with the NY Strip and Crab Cake Special. The steak was amazing and at 1 lb would curb most appetites, the crab cake was the best I’ve had, hands down! I tasted the Chocolate Covered Strawberry Liquor very flavorful for an after-dinner drink. The service was excellent, our server was very knowledgeable about each menu choice, prompt with each stage of the meal and our drinks were never spent. Kudos!

Stopped here Monday night for prime rib special and was very pleased. It was cooked perfectly, and the price was reasonable and service friendly. They even let me plug my phone into one of their chargers….. thanks.

Ordered the shrimp cocktail, tossed salad, and prime rib (medium). The food was served at the right temperature and in an unhurried manner. Friendly staff and an inviting atmosphere. The food was delicious, and I considered the prices charged fair value for the quality received. I would highly recommend this establishment, and I will return again when I revisit the Chambersburg area.

Most of the time the food has been great. It is not completely consistent though. The prime rib is usually delicious but was over cooked based on asking preference.

Had dinner this evening with my wife, wife had lobster bisque which had no pieces of lobster at all. I had stuffed mushrooms and for 15 dollars got two mushrooms with very little crab meat and bland white gravy with maybe one or two pieces of shredded cheese. Prime rib was cold but tasty, unless you have extra money to waste not a great choice! Drinks are awesome but pricey also. This was our first time and our last!

Ate here on 5/2/23. We’ve eaten here before but not since the fire. The sign out front boasts “The House of Prime Rib”, and the menu tells you just how long they have been in the prime rib business, (around 60 years). It was even the special that night, if I remember right. Long story short, the prime rib was exceptionally bad. Horrible. Stringy, raw, poor flavor. Even the Au Jus was flavorless. If you want prime rib, this is not the place.

A group of us from work gathered for dinner. Reservations were made for outside, since the weather was pleasant. 1 waitress for the entire area. Entrees were brought and finished before our side items were brought out. No timed well at all. Bills were processed and then informed items were not added to bills and had to wait to have repaid.

The meal was good, but not delicious. When we did a restaurant lookup on Google, the price was listed as $$, but should probably be listed as $$$$. You can get a sandwich for “only” $15, but the meals start at $25 to $45. For that price, I was expecting either a large quantity or great taste. Unfortunately, I received neither. We got an appetizer (garlic bread), one drink, and two entrees and spent over $80 (with tip).

The new look is OK. Wait staff friendly and seems to enjoy her job. Only negative was on-line reservation service said 7pm, and we went from 4-6pm with only two others in sight. Food took a bit of time but was worth the wait…prime rib was prime. Menu says 6oz, but was 16oz…

The staff was top-notch! The dining area is very nicely done and welcoming. Prime rib, absolutely the best I’ve ever had. Unfortunately, the appetizers, salad, soup, and sides were just “ok”. In my opinion, they were bland. Even so, we will be back.
