I had a great buffet style lunch meal at Tamarind Savoring India in Scott today. They had 9 different vegetarian dishes, 5 meat dishes, 4 desserts, 3 appetizers and fresh fruit too. Also, the buffet includes all you can eat and all you can drink mango lassi and chai. I have been to several other Indian buffets in Pittsburgh, Boston and Seattle and this is my favorite thus far. A friend from work, who was born and raised in India, recommended it and he was spot on. About 2/3 of the clientele were from India, which was a great sign that authentic food was being served. The food had so much flavor and I am going back tomorrow (Sunday), when I heard they’ll have many different items including goat biryani. And last but not least, Yushefa and John checked with me several times, cleared the plates promptly and were super friendly. It was also great to see Chef Sashin checking in on the food and regularly refilling the food at the buffet. Pictures are below. Thank you for an amazing and full of flavor food experience!

The food we got was pretty good. However, one of the items we ordered was not in the bag.

We visited this restaurant in the month of May 2023. The food was absolutely amazing!!! We ordered idly, dosa, methu vada, veg kothu paratha, cut mirchi and mutton soup. Each item was freshly made and tasted delicious! Our server, John was welcoming, polite and super helpful. We visited along with our 10 month old baby and he made our experience a great one. This Indian restaurant is a ‘must visit’ place.

Most of my takeout order was incorrect. No biryani in the bag and received the wrong appetizer. That plus a generous tip that ended up being for absolutely nothing left me out more than $20.

Been here for 2 times and had best experience in each visit. Today we tried tandoori fish and it’s perfect. We ate Hyderabad chicken dum biryani couple of times and it was perfectly blended with spices and tasteful. Prices are average and there is plenty parking space. Wheel chair accessible too.

The food is good but the service is pretty awful. Even when the place was nearly empty the wait staff was very inattentive. It took nearly half an hour just for them to take our order. No utensils, plates, or even napkins were offered with our appetizer, we had to specifically ask for them.

Vegetarian thali with generous portion of paneer curry, channa masala, onion pakora, fresh salad, 3 mini samosas, fried potatoes, dahl, rasam, sambar, curd, basmati rice, roti, papad and gulab jamoon. John is our server with very gentle and welcoming demeanor. Generous food portion with absolutely fresh ingredients and taste amazing! Having spent 5.5 years in south india, I can say this place legit! Strongly recommended!

Three of us ate lunch together and enjoyed everything. I tasted one friend’s entree and it was full of tomatoes that had a different texture from the tomatoes of my dish. I liked both dishes. The third lady chose totally vegetarian food and ate every bite so there was no need for a doggy bag. The manager was nice too.

We have been going to Tamarind once every other month for the last year and a half. Food is always well prepared if not great – they have consistency which is important as we know what we are going to get and they don’t disappoint.
