Loved this place. Found it because we were trying to find a low-key place to eat something quick, while still able to sit down.

My all time wish of trying a hot dog got fulfilled , thanks to their vegetarian hot dogs. They have a veggie and vegan hot dog! This place was flooded with people on a Saturday night but we were lucky to get a spot. But they have their upstairs open for drinks and have outside seating overlooking the Frenchmen street.

The dogs here are pretty inspired. I got a duck sausage chef’s choice style, and the chef added blackberry jam and roasted onions which was a fun sweet-savory twist. My partner got the crawfish etoufee dog which was super saucy (fork and knife style) and delicious. The seasoned fries are also very crispy and well done! It was a lively spot on a late weekend night with plenty of people ducking in for a bite between music shows.

Dat dog was delicious. When the food arrived I forgot to take a picture of it to post it here. LOL. Staff wasn’t the friendliest but I guess the taste of the food made up for it. Dirty bathroom.

Whenever my family visits Nola we must take a trip to Dat Dog, particularly the location on Frenchmen. We all enjoy creating our own dogs with such fun variations, I swear we haven’t had the same combination of toppings twice. Don’t sleep on their fries either. The cheese fries are so good and we share them like an appetizer. This is such a fun casual restaurant with so much color and decor it puts a big smile on your face. We have so much love for Dat Dog!

Fun spot on Frenchmen St. Unique atmosphere with plenty of delicious hotdog options and beer on tap. The second floor balcony is a cool spot if you are lucky enough to catch some locals playing jazz on the street right outside. Outdoor seating as well.

My husband & I had dinner here on a hot Monday night. We both built our own dogs & had spicy fries as a side. The icey cold canned Mich Ultra & PBR we had were so refreshing. I had the alligator dog with sourkrawt, onions, & Creole mustard, and it was delicious. Hubby got the beef dog & piled on a ton of toppings. Although it was a typical hot June night, everyone was in good spirits & really seemed to enjoy the place.

Amazing! Love all the great hotdogs options, the crawfish etouffe is my favorite! I’ve been here twice on separate trips & both times have been great. Definitely a place to stop when on Frenchmen Street!

We had an alligator sausage dog and a chicago dog with an order of cheese fries. The dogs were both pretty good, lots of toppings, and good sizes. The fries were a disappointment. We got this order to go and took back to our hotel about 20 mins away. When we opened the fries, the cheese was completely hard, and the fries were cold. I get that fries are something that should be eaten fairly quickly and that cheese gets hard, but 20 mins? I feel like they were probably sitting there getting cold before our dogs were ready or something. Maybe I’m wrong, but my suggestion is to order fries only if you’re dining in. Otherwise, I was pretty happy with our food.
