Usually I see them at King Harbor brewing company, but it was nice to see them at absolution brewing company this time around. Customer service is always amazing and staff is very friendly . I’m familiar with their pulled pork sandwich and was sad it was not something they had but they made up for that by recommending the ribs. Oh man, the ribs were so tender and delicious they fell right off the bone. If you’re not a fan of ribs, they do offer sliders as an option . My new addiction would definitely be the corn cakes, which was a cornbread pancake basically.

They weren’t offering sandwiches at their pop-up on 182nd St and were slinging sliders. I ordered one chicken and one pork. They start to make me something and they’re not sliders but pieces of sweet corn cake with meat on top. What happened to the sliders? This is on a griddle that’s not very hot and takes a long time. Meats were very dark, so you couldn’t see the difference between the chicken and the pork. In the end, the pork was not that good and the chicken should have been a lot better. Some guy asked how long the stuff was smoked and the “chef” laughed and said he shut the smoker down the night before at 8:00 PM and let it go into the morning. Wish them luck. BTW, a sando is a specific type of Japanese sandwich made with milk bread. Typically breaded pork cutlet, a katsu, but can be something else. I’ve seen a couple others offering “sandos” when they are not and just don’t get the crazy branding of the name sando, which is a Japanese endearment for the word sandwich.

Awesome California style BBQ from a local South Bay chef/owner! Deliciously smoked meats (tri-trip, pulled pork, chopped chicken and a veggie option too!), amazing sauces, herb macaroni salad, slaw and scrumptious corn cakes…which are described as if cornbread and a pancake had a baby!!! So good! You can catch them in Redondo Beach at two different spots. Every Friday, 5pm to 10pm at Paddy O’Briens on Aviation Blvd., and every Sunday, 12pm to 6pm at King Harbor Brewing on 182nd Street and Kingsdale. Catering available too with a 24-hour notice.
