We had a reservation, and they were heaving. The place was packed for Cinco de Mayo, which was nice to see. The hostess, servers, bartender, and all the support staff were working so hard. Our server, Macie, was extraordinary. Our food was tasty, and our drinks were yummy. They ran out of ice cream, and we were celebrating one of my granddaughters’ 4th birthday, so Macie brought an order of chocolate chimis for her and her sister to share. So very thoughtful. I would not hesitate to come back. Thank you so much!!

We stopped in here for dinner because they were running a taco special for their anniversary. We arrived at 6:15pm and there was a small wait but we found an opening at the bar, so we grabbed two seats. This is where things started to go down hill. We were greeted by the bartender who immediately but it took a solid 5 minutes to clean the mess from the people before us. Is that his fault, I would say no. There is one single bartender for a very full restaurant. He is responsible for making drinks for every single person at the restaurant. That is terribly under staffed. Our area was finally cleaned and we were handed menus. We ordered margaritas. I was disappointed mine came out of a machine and was premade. My husband’s was slightly better. Chips and salsa then showed up. The salsa is good, I will give them kudos on that. We asked about the taco special and were told it’s only while supplies last and they only had a few ground beef left. He said they would have to check if we decided to order. Then 10 minutes later we decided this was not worth all the waiting around. We felt bad for this bartender as he was losing customers left and right because it was busy and he was by himself. I recommend you don’t run a special if you can’t staff the restaurant correctly. We probably won’t be back there are so many other places to try.

Loved it! Had Tesla charges a few feet away. This is a new and modern restaurant! I really liked the modern sleek atmosphere. Had drinks and dinner at the bar while my car charged. Service was great and food fresh and good. Lots to choose from and the same great Macayo’s touch. Girl at the bar was very nice. No wait, great service.

My first and last time eating at this location. After just arriving, I ordered a house margarita and it had a guests receipt in it. It’s a big receipt!! How did that make it to our table! The bartender/supervisor said sorry, the receipt machine is by our glasses. Then brought me a new one. I like the new look, not the service at this location.

I have been into this location a few times, generally service is fairly quick. Today, I ordered my meal 20 minutes before going in. I work within walking distance, so no big deal, I just walked over and was told they were a bit behind due to it being their $0.75 taco day.

Pleasing local chain Mexican eaterie new at the Shea and 101 location. Furnishing roomy. The tortilla soup was laden with chicken and pieces of avocado and tasted fresh. The fajita bowl was nicely prepared. Meat could have been warmer but overall very filling. Our server was very pleasant and patient. A do try soon in a great location.

Great food and friendly service. Cindy was very nice and helpful. This was our first vist, we used to always go to the Scottsdale and Shea location. This is a very nice place. Clean and tables are a good distance apart. They don’t have all the neat stuff hanging from the ceiling like the old place, missed that. food was fantastic. Flavorful and plenty of it. We had and recommend the chicken taco and enchilada with rice and beans along with a red chili burrito enchilada style. Of course the chips and salsa along with hot sauce. Great job, keep it up.

Food was not bad, but not as generally flavorful as other Mexican places we’ve been to. Probably the best part of dinner were the tequila margaritas. Our server, Blake, was pleasantly attentive. Another gentleman, who wasn’t a server, walked over to our table with a decorative drink and said the bar tender made it by mistake but he would sell it to us for $5 if we wanted it. We already had margaritas that we were working on. I thought it was in questionable taste to offer us a drink at a discounted price that he said bartender made by mistake…As I said our server Blake was very good.

So far, we have only been to the Macayos on Shea and Loop 101, and while the food is consistently top-tier, the service is decidedly not. We have noticed that unless you are drinking alcohol, you tend to be on the very outer limits of the server’s radar. Sadly, this is a nearly universal practice, so I’m not hanging the blame solely on Macayos. Yes, drinkers bring in more revenue for the establishment, and they tend to be heavier tippers, so I get it; teetotalers should expect to be ignored, but this doesn’t mean that we’re going to like it.

Our server Macie was one of the nicest servers we have had in a really long time. Very attentive and cheerful. My pollo blanco burro was really good as well. Highly recommend!
