This Historical and once Wonderful Northwoods Supper Club was a dining experience not to be missed. Unfortunately, the Master Chef Jimmy Dean (NOT THE SAUSAGE GUY), passed away rather unexpectedly and left behind somewhat of a family mess.

Next level quality of food and service. A very chef centric restaurant with amazingly creative offerings.

Squeaked in without a reservation and thank God! This place was fantastic. The host and bartender were super friendly and fun to chat with and our waitress Heidi was awesome. The meal was insane. Crab arancini were huge and delicious, delightful pate and veggie board, salad, bread… I needed a break before entree time! My hunter’s schnitzel was excellent and my wife raved about her scallops. We’re still taking about it! Can’t wait to come back!!!

We have eaten here twice, and both times were disappointing. Two weeks ago, we came in for our anniversary.

Outstanding meal and excellent service. Chef Jimmy Dean and Staff made sure we had another delicious meal… we had the German potato salad soup (must try!), my husband was pleased with the pan-fried perch, & my Veal Florentine was the best ever. Topped it off with Chef Jimmy Dean’s homemade vanilla ice cream. This has been our favorite Northwoods restaurant for nearly 30 years. Love the supper club atmosphere and the welcoming attention we receive here.

We have loved the Guide’s Inn for years…The food, atmosphere, and wait staff have always been excellent. My personal favorite is the duck medallions with French onion soup, and a spinach salad with sweet and sour dressing. They used to make their own homemade ice creams, and sorbets, but changed to store bought instead…

Brilliant. Absolutely Brilliant. To not work this place into your itinerary as part of your visit to the Northwoods would be a huge miss. The food, service, ambiance is top shelf. Imagine a 5 star restaurant in any major city only transported to the Northwoods- and that is the Guides Inn. A clubby feel, where everyone is allowed to join – with food fit to serve a King. The chef comes out and chats with the guests and you will not leave hungry.

Delicious but the server forgot my condiments. **Update: Had reservations for 7pm for august 2023. Arrived at 6 and surprisingly bar was empty…had 2 drinks & were called to our table just after 7. Waited for 15 minutes before waitress came to the table. Waitress asked us if we needed something to drink. We put in an order, it didn’t take much more than 10 minutes get our drink. Did not see our waitress again for over half an hour, sat with an empty glass. Finally put in our order. Very small relish tray arrived with bread. A few minutes later, our soup came. Ate it. By now It’s just about 8 thirty, still no salad, no meal. Got frustrated, went up to the bar & paid whatever we owed and left. The bigger part of the frustration was 2 other couples that were seated just shortly after us had both received their complete meals.
