We booked a private room at the Barnard in for my sister’s bachelorette party and the experience fell far short of what I was hoping for. First of all, when I initially reached out I was looking for a private chef at our nearby Airbnb. After receiving quotes and beginning to plan, I was told they could no longer offer the private chef service and that we would have to come to the restaurant. I agreed, even though the charge was the same for coming to the restaurant as it was to cook for us at the Airbnb.

I have been a customer at the Barnard Tavern for about 17 years. This restaurant was fantastic back in the day.

We went there for our 44th anniversary. While the food was outstanding the service fell far short especially since dinner for two was $240 each for 2.

We have had many great meals and memories here over the years. The seafood curry was one of the best. The cocktails are great and the service is friendly.

Excellent dining experience at Barnard Inn! The menu was creative and exciting with plenty of variation to meet all tastes and preferences. All three of my courses were absolutely delicious and I had two cocktails that were equally tasty.

We’ve owned a vacation/ rental house in VT since 2019 and we were excited to finally check out the Barnard Inn for dinner last night, Wednesday, July 26th for the Burger night. Unfortunately our experience was not a good one and we will not be returning.

Fantastic experience overall. The hospitality was on par with higher end restaurants and the meals were outstanding. The portions were just right so you could easily enjoy a three course meal and not feel bad about eating too much. Great selection of drinks and great ingredients.
