I tried lot of their dishes. My favorite is the Curry Udon with Chicken, lot of delicious chicken for the price. I did not like their Spam Musubi – too much rice and flavorless. I did not like lot of their entrees but I think this is more of personal tastes rather than bad food. The Black Bean Noodles is very soupy and sweet compared to traditional Korean ones.

Always the best food and the best atmosphere! Best Island Style breakfast in town! You have to get the Loco Moco! You gotta get there between 9am and 1045am for breakfast but well worth it! Lunch is also great with curry, katsu, and a great beef rice bowl! Take any transportation to Van Ness and Market and you are steps away!

This Market Street counter-serve udon cafeteria gets a lot of things right. Authentic Japanese taste, quick service, spacious interior.

Kagawa-Ya udon is easy to get to. It’s a few steps away from the Van Ness Outbound Bart/muni station. Parking may be difficult if you choose to drive, so I recommend taking public transportation.

You get your noodles super fast because it’s a cafeteria style restaurant where you pick up your noodle order, move through the tempura bar for a topping, then drinks and cashier. Tried the curry beef noodles, the miso chicken and the spicy beef tan tan noodles (the latter 2 are seasonal). My favorite was the curry beef and the tan tan. The pickles in the curry beef were so tasty and added extra dimension to the dish. They have various Japanese and Hawaiian soft drinks.

This is my favorite udon in all of Bay Area! The portions are very generous, the broth is flavorful without being a salt bomb (which honestly most udon places are a bit crazy with their salt levels), and the food is always fresh and fast to come out. My other favs are the beef rice bowl and the gojuchang chicken – DELICIOUS. Friendly staff too!

Service is friendly and I had a good experience there. However, I’d say the udon is run of the mill. Noodles were undercooked and the dashi was a bit dilute. It would also be awesome if they kept the green onions and friend tempura bits out for us to add to our own liking (also would ensure the tempura bits are still crunchy by the time we eat them).

A small eatery nestled between the Twitter and Reddit office buildings. I decided to try out this place for a workday lunch. You order from a selection of Udon noodle soups or curry plates at the counter. Then you choose a few extra toppings and sides to add on to your base order. Food was great, portions were decent, and service was efficient. A satisfying lunch break all in all.

Just moved to SF from Honolulu. Was excited to try this place as had decent reviews. I got the tan tan udon. The ground beef was very western flavored- even in the broth. I can’t justify $20 for a bowl of udon. Wasn’t bad but overpriced for flavor/ experience
