The strawberry guava wood’s sweet flavor is infused into our pork, chicken, kalbi, turkey, and duck. Smoked fish selection includes salmon belly, butterfish collar, and marlin when in season. Additional local favorites such as chili, beef stew, loco moco, burgers and more also have that twist of smoked flavor. Our first day in Hawaii, we wanted to try some authentic food. This place did not disappoint! It was so good! And the weather was perfect to sit out on the balcony. I ordered the guava smoked pork and my husband the guava smoked mixed plate with pork and stew, both were so good.

Nestled on the second floor, this inconspicuous place is a gem of Kapahulu. I had the smoked salmon bellies plate lunch and I absolutely LOVED it. Every bite packs soooo much flavor and smokiness, it also helps that they have the chili pepper water to add an extra local style kick if you want. The guava bar is a must to finish off your meal – I always end up feeling great and satisfied. If you are pescatarian like me, they have only two (still ono) seafood choices but for meat lovers you have a lot more choices.

The restaurant is located upstairs and has open seating. It’s plate lunch style and there are many orders to choose from. The spicy smoked pork is very good, the duck is good too. You can mix and match with your rice choices as well. The Mac salad reminded me of deviled eggs in the best way possible. Do not sit outdoors unless you’re okay with you and your food being attacked by flies. The staff is super friendly and will inform you about their menu. Complimentary water.

Very chill second floor gem. Went for the Spicy Pork and Smoked Salmon Bellies after staff recommended (confirming my pre-determined selection), and it did not disappoint! Those salmon bellies are super fire! The misses got the Thursday duck and found it to be really delicious. The dressing for her salad just came, but it was a delicious creamy vinaigrette that was light and full of flavour. They even choose to serve the style rice that has white mixed with some brown. You can see how their decisions are careful and help develop a great menu.

EAT HERE!! We arrived right before other people did, and were blown away. What is there not to love about this place?! Veteran owned, and the smoked meat is some of the best we’ve had! The chicken is perfect (especially the skin), and the beef stew smacked! Every bite we took of something else we said “omg.” The BEST mac salad hands down, and the guava bars are the perfect balance of sweetness and flavor. Notice I said guava bars, we bought 3! Wished we lived in Hawaii, this place would be on rotation. Staff is great, too, as if it couldn’t get better. Walk behind the building to find the entrance.

Very hot inside, no service at the table, limited menu options, tables were too tall and hard to get from the chairs, extra money for sauce!!??. We got to this place only because it had a 4.7/5 review on Google Map. I do not recommend this place for a gathering. The food was not very delicious. The entrance is hard to get and all of our group members had hard time finding it.

Best bbq I’ve had here. There’s good places and there’s Guava Smoked. There’s not a lot of parking available but I think because this is a true local establishment. It’s clean with plenty of seating and the owners are friendly. I had the spicy smoked pork with salad while my wife had the mild smoked pork with mac salad. Flavors are really good.

Mouthwatering down to earth kind of restaurant. The food here was simply exquisite. My partner and I tried the pork, duck, chicken and loco moco and all of them were full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The staff was very kind and welcoming and made us feel apart of the family. Their guava bars are a must to end the meal. If you looking for quality authentic island food at more reasonable prices, Guava smoked is a must.
