Went here for dinner before Boilermaker with a large group. Cool atmosphere, and service was on par. However, when I go to a place like this, I expect the food to be as good as the surroundings…but my pasta dish was a big disappointment. It was largely dry, with very little sauce, and teeny bits of sausage. The taste was OK, but this place’s concept of “Al Dente” is not the same as mine…I mean, the pasta was so firm, it stuck to my teeth. I’m sorry, but I like my pasta with lots of flavorful sauce and more on the “Al Bente” side than what I had here.

My favorite aspect was the atmosphere. The vibe was very retro from the 60s and was awesome. The food was just as good. Everyone was happy with their meal as well as our shared appetizers. I would love to go back.

The dining room is a stunner! Unique and beautiful atmosphere. The food is average. I’ve eaten here a few times and while there are some tasty items on the menu, each thing I’ve had does fall short. Great for getting a cocktail but I’d skip dinner.

Wow! So glad Nostro is a new part of the downtown Utica restaurant scene. We went for a weekend date night and loved every minute. The ambience was just right with low lights and music in the background but not overbearing. Our waiter Antonio was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The cocktails he recommended were so delicious—we had the Mercy Room and the Jungle Bird. Then we had a chef’s tasting of the menu with the request for vegetarian dishes. We were so pleasantly surprised with the wide variety of options ranging from the cheese plate, broccoli rabe, roasted potatoes, zucchini chips, fried peppers, arugula salad, risotto, and campanelle pesto. The meal was topped off with a light merengue cake slice, which was especially tasty. Looking forward to many more visits in the future!

Had an amazing dinner here. I loved how they repurposed the space. The appetizers were unique and really surprised me. The corn raviolis were excellent. The bathrooms are very unique and clever.

Had the calamari along with the sausage and a bunch of desserts at a party. All the food was cooked amazing and tasted great. I have never had calamari with capers but man oh man what a flavor profile that is. WOW . Great service also and the beer prices were not that bad. I wish they served Gabagool.

Ordered Doordash from this place last night. The delivery driver was very punctual. Quality of food received, on the other hand, not so good. All the pasta dishes were extremely overcooked, bland, and tasted a little off. Pasta gave me a stomachache. My 12 year old son only had rigatoni with butter and the garlic bread. He puked it up on his bedroom floor in the middle of the night. I decided to give the pasta a second chance and bring it to work for lunch. I’m currently fighting a puke while I’m writing this review. Don’t waste your time or money on this subpar Italian restaurant. I’m not sure why it commands a premium price tag. $200 for nothing.

My wife and I dined here for the first time recently. Upon arriving we were seated promptly. Our waitress came to introduce herself, asked if we had been before and gave us the run down of the menu. She mentioned their tasting menu, the Arsenale, which consisted of a four course shared dish meal. It’s $65 a person and everyone at the table needs to participate in order to take part. We informed our server that my wife was a vegetarian and inquired if this tasting menu could be customized to meet those needs. We were told it could be. We decided to order this and some drinks. We were brought some bread and eventually our drinks, which took what felt like quite a bit of time. Our first course was an arugula salad, veal meatballs, and a plate of prosciutto and cheese. As the meatballs and prosciutto were being placed on the table the server said to my wife “these aren’t for you”. Given the conversation we had with our waitress we thought this was strange but figured maybe the with the salad – we let it go. The next course comes out and it’s a branzino with three sides. In between the first and second course, our waitress came back to our table to ask my wife if she ate fish – and she said no. So I magine our shock when a whole fish is brought to the table. The third course was dropped on our table a considerable amount after we had finished the second course. It was a pasta dish but the sever who dropped it off did not explain exactly what it was to us. Fourth course was a dessert.
