For a unique spot combining both Korean and Cajun style of food, this is the spot. Serving delicious food with unique dishes highlighting both cajan and Korean tastes.

Simply incredible. I’ve been following Chef Jung on social media for years but hadn’t had a chance to go to KJUN until recently. It was so worth the wait.

Y’all this food is SO DARN FLAVORFUL! I highly recommend the jambalaya, it was certainly the best I’ve ever had. The food was quickly served and I was so surprised at how much flavor a dish could pack, so I’m very excited to explore the rest of the menu since I’ll definitely be back. The service was very friendly and I swear my cup of water was refilled so many times I couldn’t tell if I had made progress, which was very nice. The space is small, but still cozy. I’d recommend bringing a companion and maybe ordering takeout if you’re in a group.

The food was amazing, I simply loved the rich flavors in everything, the pleasant and varied textures of the food, and how unique each dish was. I even liked the chicken, which I normally ignore on menus because it tends to be bland. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of their food. A very personal restaurant.

Mind. Blown. Our group of 5 were so impressed with everything we ordered (and we ordered a lot). We were a little skeptical at first about some of the menu descriptions and how the Korean and Cajun cuisines could work in the same dish but boy we were proven wrong again and again. From the surprisingly refreshing Go-go juice which had matcha, plum and lemon to the thoughtful blend of flavors in the watermelon salad and liver pate, we kept exclaiming that Chef Jae Jung was an absolute genius. Here’s a thoughtful chef who understood the nuances of New Orleans and Korean flavors and must have spent hours just perfecting how they would combine to take our palettes to newer heights. Favorites of our group were the seafood jajangmyun (the squid ink drenched noodles takes you straight into the sea), the kimchi jambalaya had the most juicy rice and tender chicken, the grits was the best we’ve ever had with its buttery consistency and the okra kimchi was out of this world. Kudos chef Jae Jung. We’re definitely bringing all our friends back!

Being a fan of Top Chef and loving Chef Jae on season 19, as well as a Korean who loves southern food, I have been dying to try KJUN for a while now. I can say it absolutely lives up to the hype!

Wow, what a meal! I might consider myself a New Yorker now, but I’m a southern boy at heart so I take my soul food seriously. My oh my, how delicious it was. One might initially think Korean and Cajun cooking is a strange combination, but instead it’s just a maximalist experience. You get delicious flavors and foods from everywhere. Be it jambalaya infused with Kimchi, some of the best fried chicken I’ve had, expansions and evolutions of staple dishes like deviled eggs, the place has it all. Truly, I tasted the majority of the menu and I loved everything. Even the (non-alcoholic) drinks were amazing! Chef Jae knows what she’s doing. Oh my gosh, the corn bread too. Looking at these photos and I want to lick my phone to taste the succulent flavors again. Listen, if you like Korean food, go there. If you like creole food, Cajun food, soul food, southern food, also go there. If you like them both? Make your reservation now and thank me later. She makes what you already love and she elevates it to ways y’all can’t comprehend. Then she invents new things. You won’t be disappointed. Kimchi okra! Delicious pork ribs with Korean flavors! I gotta stop writing so I can plan my return trip.

Absolute go to restaurant in the city. The food is consistent, the service is great and chef often makes her rounds to greet all guests. KJun is comfort food and something that you will think back to and come back to enjoy. I’ve gone alone and with friends and it’s always been a wonderful experience.

I have been a long-time customer of Kjun ever since its humble beginnings as a popup. I absolutely love this restaurant and everything it has to offer. Despite its small and simple setting, the staff and chef here serve with heart, and the quality of the food and ingredients is top-notch. The flavors are incredible, and anyone with even a little knowledge of food can appreciate the level of care put into sourcing high-quality ingredients. It’s no wonder Kjun has received rave reviews from The New York Times and has gained a following of devoted fans. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water.
