At our Birmingham, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Took forever to finally get the food and it was a total disappointment… got the hand breaded catfish and instead of it being the size that it normally is it was literally the size of two small catfish nuggets put together the broccoli was cooked down too mush the only decent part of the plate was the hush puppies SMH

Visited the store on the 6th of May 2023 around lunchtime. The lady up front was super patient and accommodating. They were pretty busy but kept a positive attitude. The food was hot and fresh and the store was clean. My only complaint is the “music” I was forced to endure.

I love the Giant Fish Sandwich Combo, so I decided to go to the Crestwood store and to start off, the young man who took my order got it wrong three times. The manager who was on duty got upset with me because I didn’t want to Catfish, I only wanted to fish not catfish. I was charged for the catfish and still my order was wrong

Absolutely one of the worst customer service experience. I’m really surprise this location is still open. With as many food choices and places to eat, you would think they would be vying to serve you, but instead, all this location does, is anticipate on you driving off. To date just about every time I and or my family has eaten here, it has been old, reheated, or wrong. Tip: don’t plan to eat here within 30-45 minutes till close, because they will make you wait and chances are your food will be old.

The pieces of fish were so tiny, like samples. Never before seen beer battered fish with no crunchy things and all four pieces were about an in around. Will not eat there again. Wasn’t even fresh!

I ordered my food online. Got to the restaurant, waited 5 mins at the speaker to tell them I had a mobile order. Got to the window for them to tell me to pull down because they were waiting on my crab cakes. I waited in the parking lot 15-20 mins before someone brought out my food. I checked my food, I ordered a loaded baked potato but they gave me fries, went into the restaurant, explained to the manager I order a loaded potato and not fries, she proceeds to tell me, they don’t have any potato and they didn’t have anyway of telling me since I ordered through the app. So you’re telling me that the 20 mins yall had me waiting in the parking lot l, Noone could come out and say, ” I’m sorry we’re out of potatoes, would you like to substitute for another side?!” My food was not fresh…I would think after waiting that long it would be! Never have to worry about me coming here again. They put all this emphasis on ordering through the app, but in reality it’s better to just go to the restaurant and order, that way if something isn’t to your liking you can just instantly get your money back and not have to email and wait forever for someone to contact you back. I’m soooo over these fast food places. Lesson learned: stop spending money on these bad service places and just cook at home!!!!!!!

This Captain D’s food is always hot and fresh. The last time I made a visit I was in the Drive-Thru and I had to wait more than usual but when I got up to the window to pay I realized the guy at the window is working by himself. He’s running outside taking out food he’s running back inside just running trying to take care of everybody. He had the best attitude he was super nice and it made the wait more than okay.
