Beautiful restaurant with amazing food. I started off with some drinks- martini and a spritz. Both were amazing with great flavors. We then had their Korean BBQ pizza and their Korean sweet potato. Both were oozing with great flavors. We got real lucky with being able to be seated with no reservation. Good to know for next time that we need to make reservations.

SO GOOD! Delicious, well rounded drinks, good vibes, great concept, and the fanciest pizza you can get. The kimchi and purple rice were fantastic sides to compliment the rest of our dishes. Would recommend to my friends and family as a very cool, hip place to enjoy some well rounded dishes

Absolutely first class pizza place. Well deserved James Beard Award. The 4 pizzas we tried and the kimchi hummus were all fantastic. Crust was exactly as it should be – crispy yet chewy with some char on the outside. Combination of toppings on each pie were creative but cohesive. The perfect pickle pie is a must try not just because you won’t find a pizza like this anywhere else in the world but also because it’s so delicious. And the soft serve ice cream was a wonderful way to wrap up the meal. A must visit if you’re in Minneapolis!!

10/5 Ranking, since I can’t go any further than 5, it warrants mentioning right off the bat. We went for brunch at noon on a Sunday. Two people in our group had the spritz and really enjoyed that, I had the bloody mary, and it’s in my top 3 – light, refreshing, unique.

Hip, clean, attentive customer service, tasty food. Kids are welcome but food and atmosphere is mostly for couples and groups. No booths; Dining is not a quiet experience, music and table talking made our party difficult to hear one another. Very $$$ for wood fired pizza, but the Tavern pie will leave you dreaming about it for days and waiting to go back to try more pies!

I don’t think it is outrageous to say that this place might have the best pizzas in the Twin Cities at all! Young Joni prides itself on serving Korean and Italian fusion, so there are lots of innovative dishes that I have never heard of before, including an appetizer called kimchi hummus, which I did not end up trying. But I will say for sure that after trying many of the vegetable sides and many of their varieties of pizzas, I can recommend Young Joni’s pizzas to literally everyone around me. Starting with the vegetables, the confit mushrooms, the cauliflower, and the Korean sweet potatoes all have their respective strengths, and serve as amazing side dishes. But of course, the star of the show is the pizza. One can always go with the two Italian classics, the Marinara or the Margherita, and both can provide very classic flavors that exemplify what real Italian pizzas should taste like. The garlic pieces on the Marinara and the fresh mozzarella along with fresh basil on the Margherita are just outstanding in providing the extra amount of flavor that is needed to elevate the pizza. The potato and leek pizza is no longer on Young Joni’s menu, but last time when I had it, it was a very solid choice for those who are vegetarian. Then there is the Korean BBQ pizza, which you know exemplifies the restaurant’s fusion mission, so it is very delicious. The combination of beef short ribs, mozzarella cheese, and soy-chili vinaigrette along with green onion and arugula on the top together make it an enjoyable experience, and it shows me that this fusion really works. The Umami Mama pizza screams “umami” all day long because it contains three different kinds of mushrooms and then ingredients that contain strong flavors which also help with elevating the umami taste, like parmigiano-reggiano, the very salty and flavorful parmesan cheese. The Amalfi Coast pizza tastes like an alternative version of the Margherita pizza, except for with more vegetables. It tastes very good because there is a lot of olive oil on the pizza which actually enhances the pizza’s original flavor. On the other hand, the La Parisienne pizza does not really have a lot of (if any) olive oil, but it is an amazing pizza because the saltiness of the prosciutto and the sweetness of the caramelized onion work very well together in balancing flavors when there is ricotta cheese in the mix. So far every pizza has been a hit, which is why I love it! Dessert-wise, Young Joni doesn’t have a lot, so only the church basement cookie & bar plate and the seasonal crips. I have had the former twice and enjoyed it each time, although I will say $12 is a bit much for the dessert itself. I think $8-$9 might sufficient. However, I must stress that lacking dessert while serving championship level food is completely okay, because a lot of restaurants are the opposite: having amazing desserts but relatively less tasty food. I would recommend anyone visiting Minneapolis give Young Joni a shot! Get yourself a good table, some nice food, and use their photo booth to take photos with your companions!

Our party is six shared an assortment of starters, salads, and pizzas, and we thoroughly enjoyed every selection! Our server John was attentive, keeping our beverages filled and the table cleared of finished plates. We all found the atmosphere to have a fun vibe and enjoyed our dining experience.

As soon as you step foot into the restaurant you are greeted with beautiful greenery that is a great representation of the restaurant. It has a rustic but modern take to it which I loved. The kimchi was fresh and by far the best kimchi I’ve had. My husband who lived in Korea for a year and has traveled to Korea many times said it was the best kimchi he’s had in the states so far. The pickled radish was crunchy and flavorful and the pickled ginger caught me by surprise by how good it was! The star of the show was definitely the Korean sweet potatoes. Next time I go back, I’m getting 2 orders of the potatoes! They were sweet and creamy. The pizza was also phenomenal, although I thought it had a bit too much arugula but it was still yummy!
