I typically visit the block once a month and every single time I have an amazing experience. The food is farm to table. The service is very attentive and fast. The flavor that they are able to create in each and every plate is incredible and very hard to find in other restaurants. It tastes fresh, authentic and savory. Overall, I would highly recommend this spot.

my husband and I love the block! we are from out of state and don’t love the food in utah but the block is one of our spots! Surprised it doesn’t have better reviews so I had to leave one. My husband is gluten intolerant and they are SO helpful and kind with substitutes and we think the food is yummy!

Block is such a little hidden Utah gem. The food is home style American with unique flavor combinations. The short rib gnocchi was incredible- melt in your mouth tender, lean, and bursting with flavor. The duck was the best any in our party had ever had. The service is friendly and responsive.

Tried this while in town for a wedding. Saw good review and went with for brunch. Coffee was fantastic…served with real cream and turbinado sugar lumps. My husband got the hash which was a symphony of flavors and was the star dish at our table. The bacon is a high quality and thick cut…cooked to perfection. The pancake can go up against any I have had…do go for the rainbow syrup. Nice atmosphere and good service was just the cherry on top.

I saw some pictures on Instagram of the food here and just had to try it. The atmosphere was wonderful, very eclectic and reminded me of San Diego. The food was good, but nothing to rave about. We paid $65 before tip. Definitely not worth that much. I would have guessed it should be more around $30 for 2. The service was HORRIBLE. Our server didn’t check in with us once. She didn’t bring us the ketchup we had asked for. We waited 45 minutes AFTER we were done eating for our check. Safe to say, we won’t be going back.

We went here for a 5-course tasting. The food was incredible! We were able to try amazing foods we would never order otherwise — like a delicious tomato salad. We were also able to try “normal” foods — like pork loin — prepared with flavors that were divine. The frustration for me was the juxtaposition of a 5-star meal against the worst service I’ve had in a while. We had to ask for drink refills, not once or twice, but every time. At one point our whole table was dry and we couldn’t find him. He never explained what we were eating (which is the whole point of a tasting) and when we asked about it he said he only had 30 mins to prepare and couldn’t remember, so he just dropped off a menu we could read instead. It ruined the whole vibe. I expected better from a $100+ meal, without alcohol.

If you haven’t tried this place you need to put your phone down and run to the car. It’s THAT good. We had the potato gnocchi with short rib along with the spring pasta (my absolutely favorite by a long shot) and finished it off with the strawberry shortcake.
