I’ve just left this location. We had to wait ten minutes for our food, then the food was so greasy that we couldn’t even eat them. You can see how oily the onion rings are from the pictures and the fries wasn’t even filled all the way up. The dinner cost $17 and this is what you get? The dining room was closed and they’re were at least five employees in there… obviously not doing their job!!! And you wonder why restaurants like this don’t make it! ‍♀️

We started out by sitting at the drive through speaker for almost 30 minutes before anyone even some to us. Unfortunately there was a car in front of us and one behind so we couldn’t leave. Finally someone came on (zero acknowledgment of how long we waited) and we ordered 5 milkshakes. After finally pulling forward we waited another 15 minutes before he came to the window. He just opens the window and tells us the total. I ask are the milkshakes almost done because we don’t want to want any longer. He looks at me like I am crazy and says yes. So we pay and he hands me the milkshakes. Does not say thank you, sorry about the wait, anything.

Was going through the drive-thru and the lady asked me to wait a minute. I waited 12 minutes and she still hasn’t taken my order so I drove off. They wasn’t busy I was the only one there. A matter of fact I’ve never seen this place busy probably because they take so long to take your order and to get it. This has been the third time for me. I like steak and shake but this one is no good

Drive thru only right now and I can’t fault them for taking a bit longer on food prep (we all know there’s an employee shortage for fast food). They are 0 for 4 on adding lettuce to our Frisco burger but all in all the burgers were good and the shakes…. well, its steak and shake so the shakes are amazing.

This place is awesome! We love Steak ‘n Shake, but this one in Dayton has, hands down, the BEST service! My husband ordered his meal a very special way, and the representative working the window, Chris, went above and beyond to accommodate. The order was *kisses fingertips* a true work of art! My husband is extremely grateful, the food was so much better than he had hoped, and I’m so thrilled to go home with a super happy man! Thank you!

Wow, I mean wow. This place had such potential. I would rather drive 45 minutes with gas prices the way they are to go anywhere else and eat anything else then at this location. We ordered online since the lobby is closed and figured it would be easier to do it in advance. It said the order went through and it would be ready in about 10 minutes. The lobby is closed so naturally we had to go through drive-thru. That’s absolutely fine, when we got up to the speaker box they immediately told us to just go ahead and pull around and they would get our order at the window. I don’t know why they can’t take orders at the speaker? But once again no problem. We then set a timer and proceeded to wait 35 minutes just to get to the window. We would have backed out and left if it was not for the fact we were blocked in. There was a line of at least 20 cars from the time we got there and waited, 99.9% of them drove off. This location is losing probably thousands and will eventually close down like every other business in Dayton. Still I was trying to understand the situation considering I have worked fast food and times are hard right now with covid and no one wanting to work. Once we get to the window the order is not even ready. It then takes them another 15 minutes to make the order which was not a big order. Once we receive our food we are just waiting on a shake. They set it down on the counter in front of us and then continue to talk and play around for another couple of minutes. Eventually we get it and leave, lo and behold it’s the wrong shake. We don’t even care and are not going to turn around to sit in line for another 40 minutes. The cherry on top is when my husband started eating his Burger there was hair in it ‍♀️

Every time I have went here and ordered a Cajun burger they never put the Cajun seasoning on the top of the bun and they always leave out the cheese sauce that was paid for. They always say it’s at the bottom of the bag because they know the customer will most likely not pull all of their food out of the bag to check with cars lining up behind them. I love steak and shake but the crew needs some training.

Was staying at the sleep in and decided that since the steak and shake was next door and it was close to 8pm we would go there to grab something to eat. Seem to take forever to get the food, and then found out that they were still waiting on the fries! When I finally got back to the room the food was awful 🙁 the burgers were overdone and the buns were slightly hard, almost stale, and the hot dogs I order were cold, so barely cooked. I give it one star only because the shakes were good, and the fries. But still very disappointed.

I rarely rate a restaurant so harshly but I need to be honest. The service was just average but the food was horrible. Both hamburgers we received as part of our order were inedible. Literally, we only had a couple of bites before throwing them out. Greasy and undercooked. The cokes were terrible. I don’t fault the workers as much as the owners of the franchise but regardless, just keep on driving.

My burger was not done , so I took it back for a new one , they cut the part I had bitten into and put it back on the grill. My burger was the size of a half dollar. The restaurant was sticky dirty. The only good thing about this place was the Cashier…
