I will start off with this is a very busy spot, and is not a dine location. It is strictly take-out. My rating is strictly for my experience. We came here from seeing IG posts and reviews. The food on IG looks absolutely delicious! We arrived, and it was indeed busy! I wanted to try the oxtail boil because, why not!?!? I asked before ordering, if they had oxtails, and was told yes, so I proceeded with ordering an oxtail boil and a 12pc wing basket. 45 minutes later, I received a call stating they were out of oxtails and if I wanted a refund. So, now, I’m frustrated. I’ve waited for 45 minutes for my food, and now I have none besides my husband’s wing basket. So, I told the young lady I wanted a refund and to order another 12pc wing basket, to which she responded, “You have one.” I go inside because I don’t think she understood what I was saying. The owner was nice and accommodating. I got my refund and was offered a dessert and drink. My food was placed at the register, and I asked if the other 12pc wings were there, to which the young lady stated I didn’t say I wanted any. The owner quickly told her to drop 12 wings, and the next order would be mine. I appreciate the owner rectifying the situation. However, I still don’t understand why it took 45 minutes to inform me that they were out of what I originally ordered.

My husband and I wanted fish and couldn’t find any place that was open after 9:00 pm. After searching TikTok and Instagram, we found Boomshack, which is less than 15 minutes from our house. When we arrived l, at 9:26 pm,there was a young man locking the door. My husband asked if they were closed and he replied yes. We were disappointed because the time listed on google says that they’re open until 10:00 pm. As we walked away, a young lady asked us to come in and place our order and that we would be the final order of the evening. We thanked her and placed our order and it took around 20 minutes. The customer service was very nice and our food was very good. We will definitely be back for the fish.

First time visiting the boom shack and will definitely be returning. The Buffalo lemon Pepper wings have to be the best flavor I’ve tasted. The banana pudding was very creamy and full of flavor. Best Cajun food in Dallas !!!

It is a black owned restaurant, so of course you know we had to support. Unfortunately the food was not good… I order the cat fish and shrimp combo a chicken Cajun pasta and it was supposed to be the boom pasta without sausage. Of course they still brought the boom pasta with sausage I didn’t make it a big deal because you know we can pick it out but when I got home and I tasted the fish, it was very fishy. It had no fish just crust. The only thing that was good was the shrimp because it was jumbo shrimps and hush puppy were very good. We also got that Cajun pasta. The Cajun pasta was disgusting very disgusting and it was spoiled

I’m leaving a 1 start review, not because because the food was lackluster, i haven’t even tried the food yet because i can’t even get anyone to take my order over the phone. Every time I’ve called in to place an order the phone is either ringing forever or they actually pick up, quickly place me on hold and never get back with me. I called on this day to place an order but the young lady who answered immediately put me on hold and i had to listen to her take the orders of at least three walk in customers, i got tired of waiting so i hung up. I’ve officially given up on ever trying anything from this place, yall have lost my business forever. DO BETTER

I was worried at first cause of previous reviews on here. I wanted to try them out myself. But I ordered over the phone during lunch so it wasn’t busy. It was pretty good! I would definitely order again in the future. The lady that answered the phone was so helpful, and answered my questions. I got the boom #7 (medium) for lunch, and it was just the right amount for one person. The cashier showed me the strawberry crunch, and I decided to get it. Very good as well.

We have been wanting to try this place and I have to say we are disappointed. The size of the clusters were a good size but the flavor was not there. They literally gave me a half a sausage in my bag and I ordered a 2 piece fish with shrimp. I only received 1piece of fish. The prices online for the bag are a 10 dollar more difference than the prices inside. Not worth it at all. That’s why I stick to what I know.

This was my first and last visit! The wait time was ridiculous! I ordered my food at 1:37 on a Saturday and I didn’t get my food until 4:30. The owner walked in and I told him I have been waiting over an hour for my food and he responded “Sorry to hear” and closed the door. I could tell he didn’t care… The girl who took our order was nice. I just think more empathy could’ve been shown! It wasn’t only me it was several others with long wait time.
