The history of McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants began when Bill McCormick purchased Jake’s Famous Crawfish Restaurant located in Portland, Oregon, and brought the more than 100-year-old landmark back to life. When asked the secret of how he revitalized a restaurant on the brink of closing, McCormick says, I like nothing better than being a good host. Part of the managerial talent McCormick tapped was Doug Schmick, a management trainee. The two formed a partnership in 1974, creating Traditional Concepts, a precursor to today’s McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants. In 1979, they opened the original McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant in Portland, Oregon.

Great seafood in Roseville with excellent service. The “shrimp kiss” appetizers (bacon wrapped shimp with pepper jack cheese) were delicious. I also really liked my fish & chips, and my friend enjoyed her salmon (all pictures). We also both liked our New England clam chowder. Recommended.

My wife and I enjoyed a great dinner here on a Friday night. It was fairly busy so making a reservation is probably a good idea. The restaurant was well decorated and our table was in a private alcove that had curtains to partition off our area for extra private dining. The service was amazing, our waitress really took the time to explain the menu to us. Even though the menu was small we were both able to find something we wanted, and the food was excellent. Prices are definitely on the high side but we felt as an occasional date night location, this is an excellent choice.

The food is always excellent and fresh. It is pricey but delicious. We have almost always received excellent service as well (the one slightly different experience involved a new server, but management was on top of the situation). Would definitely recommend so long as you can afford it.

Had a teetotally great time at McCormick’s & Schmick’s today. The happy hour menu is more affordable than a thousand-year mortgage and the burger I ordered was so succulent. Smoky and juicy, tasted great with the homemade pickles and fries.

Went here for dinner with my sister to celebrate a family member’s final cancer treatment. Our server Derek was rude to us from the very beginning. He was snarky to my sister when she asked for lemon in her water (“Uh, have you ever been to a restaurant where they DON’T serve lemon in water?”). I dropped something in my hot tea, and asked for a new cup and he was very difficult about it (“C’mon, do you really need a new tea bag and cup? It’s just a little protein. You sure? You can’t handle that little bit?”). In addition to being inattentive throughout the meal, his overall demeanor was derisive and unpleasant. His manager Sunni, while pleasant, did little to assure us that his disagreeable behavior would be addressed except to offer us a free dessert. No thank you. I’m not looking for a freebie. What was supposed to be a happy evening of celebration turned into a stressful ordeal. Two stars ONLY because the salmon was fantastic…

A belated Christmas lunch with my best friend. Jacob was our most attentive waiter. We had seen an ad for their newest pasta entree, Seafood Cioppino Fettuccine. That’s what we were both hungry for. No disappointments here. The bowl came to us brimming with mussels, calamari, shrimp, al dente fettuccine in a spicy broth with sundried tomatoes and so many wonderful flavors. This, accompanied with 2 slices of crusty toasted sourdough was a perfect, tasty, satisfying meal. So good! Seared Sea Scallops had always been my M & S ‘go-to’. Now I’m hoping this new entree will become a staple.

A bit expensive for dinner but absolutely worth it for seafood and steaks. The cooks really outdo themselves with the shrimp linguine and the calamari is crispy with a tangy but somewhat spicy tartar sauce. The happy hour drinks are reasonable and delicious. The atmosphere is very relaxed and can be dressy or casual with a super friendly and efficient service staff. I will definitely be visiting again!

We came in at 6:15pm on a Friday night and were sat within 10min. Staff was polite and the atmosphere was pleasant. I ordered the parmesan crusted sole with butternut squash orzo. The light buttery sauce for the sole was amazing, light, zesty and buttery. The orzo was light and cheesy. The whole dish tasted amazing!

James was our waiter and he made the lunch 10x better. Super sweet. Food was amazing, and the chocolate bag was something very new.

The ONLY time to come here is during happy hour. Expect spotty/slow service but good prices on food.
