Went with pizza king vs Marcos and they messed up our order pretty good. After calling I ordered online because it was easier. They forgot a few toppings on the veggie pizza that I paid extra for and also made the worst Hawaiian pizza (have to custom make it that’s why I called) I’ve had. It had maybe 2-3 pieces of ham , maybe a chunk of pineapple, 2 strains of cheese, and about a gallon of bbq sauce (see pic). Very dissatisfied

I have loved Pizza King since I was a kid and I’m now 51. However, I can’t help but give a bad review for the one on Illinois Road. The manager Brooke is possibly the most unprofessional person I have ever met and I will never return to that location. Showed up to get my pizza and they accidentally gave my pizza to someone else. This person took it out to their vehicle and apparently looked it over and brought it back in because it wasn’t what they ordered. Brooke tried a nice slight of hand by taking that pizza putting it back on the rack and then giving that person the correct pizza. She then turns around and takes my pizza off the rack and says here you go. I said I wasn’t comfortable being given a pizza that someone else had out in their car. She was very rude and said they didn’t touch it. I asked how would she know that since we were both inside. She rolled her eyes and acted like I was being unreasonable to not accept the pizza. I told her it would be one thing if she looked at it right in front of us but not when it literally left the building. She got rude again and said well if that is how you are going to be just wait I will make you a new one. I told her no just give me my money back that I didn’t want anything from this location again. I will be filing a complaint with the health department because this was unacceptable. I will say a young man Jackson who works there couldn’t have been any nicer or apologetic it was the manager Brooke who was the issue.

While I can count on a good pizza from Pizza King, I can’t count on a good pizza from the Illinois Rd store. The last four pizzas (over the last 2.5 months)were ordered with extra cheese and they all look like the one attached to this review. This particular pizza was ordered with sausage, mushroom on half and pepperoni on 1/2. I received: pepperoni on 100% along with some onion, hardly any sausage or mushroom, and certainly, not NO extra cheese. I debated about ordering this pizza from Illinois Rd. No more. I’ll go to The State St or the Bluffton Rd store for the next order. Those pizzas are night and day difference from what is pictured here.

The staff here are really helpful. Last Friday night I ordered a 14” half pepp/ half sausage. When they checked my pizza they realized it was made wrong – half cheese only/ half pepp and sausage. It was no big deal to me as I knew they were really busy that night. But they gave me the goofed up one free plus made the correct one in the 16” version plus took $5 off, and the manager was so apologetic. Again, I was prepared to just eat the one they made with no complaint – I like just about any kind of pizza. But I appreciated their attention to detail and left the usual big tip. Great job PK!!

We love pizza king pizza, but this location seems inconsistent. We have had a few issues with our pizza not coming out as ordered. We rarely get our pizza cooked ‘well done’ as requested, and other times it looks like they have run out of ingredients, or simply threw the pizza together in a rush. I understand that staffing is an issue, almost everywhere, but I would honestly wait longer to get a pizza I will enjoy. With prices higher than other pizza chains, you’d expect a higher level of quality control.

Ordered a large pizza, medium pan pizza and an order of breadsticks. Was not hot, barely warm. Barely any cheese covering the pan pizza. Super expensive. $47! $5 for these breadsticks, half of which were rock hard and burnt. If I didn’t have 4 starving children at home, I would have brought it back and demanded a refund.
