At our Florence, AL location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I liked that it was similar to Long John Silvers but not as expensive…. Very good food! Loved the shrimp and fish.. Friendly staff at the Muscle Shoals location…… However, at the Florence location when dining in, for the second time, there is a female employee who takes orders and no matter how many times you tell her exactly what you want, (On the signs when you walk in!!) the price and description!, she will order a more expensive dinner and then tell you to your face and the cook that was what you ordered!!! The cook comes out and apologizes for the confusion….Both times!! And the restaurant is not clean…. The food is good but I never feel comfortable eating in a dirty restaurant….

Staff was nice, food was good but the inside of the restaurant was beyond filthy. It was bad enough that we couldn’t enjoy our food. The drink machine area was filled with ice, water, and trash. The tables were nasty. The garbage was overflowing. Old food everywhere. They weren’t busy at all so it seems like they would have someone tidying the dining room. It looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in several months.

We love this restaurant chain!!!! We don’t usually dine in. However, the food is always fresh and tasty. Some training in customer service could be beneficial to this location. However, I’m always greeted and dismissed with sincerity and courtesy.

I always forget about this restaurant. No offense. Florence has so many restaurants. I had a craving so, I stopped by. I ordered the Fish and Shrimp. For my sides I ordered okra and macaroni and cheese. My food was ready before I could even sit down. It was hot and fresh and so tasty! The restaurant is decorated really cute and very festive for Christmas. Thank you Captain D’s.

I just ate there and all I have to say is what happened cause the food is hot and the people that work there are very friendly now unlike in the past. I had a 4 piece fish meal and everything was very nice. Keep up the good work. This was my first time there in a while cause of the bad in the past but I will start eating there now on since I know the food is going to be good.

we dine in on a Sunday lunch and food was serve quick and delicious, it was clean. The MOD checked on us a couple times, which I appreciate it as a mother of a toddler. Thank you for a good experience, last time I was here was in 2018 and we had food poisoning and it was such a bad experience that I swore to never come back but I got recommended to give it a chance and I sure don’t regret it!!

First off they were out of the salmon that I always get. Then I ordered a regular size gumbo. For $3.99… and it came in a tiny paper bowl not even halfway filled up. And when I asked if they could fill it. They responded with ” that’s what was prepped this morning” and then I asked for a manager and he shrugged his shoulders and walked away. Then I noticed they didn’t give me the butter and sour cream with my potato. I’m extremely annoyed with this whole visit here I won’t return.

The battered fish and okra are good but it never fails that even if I’m the only person in line it still takes at least 30 minutes to get my order in the drive thru. Currently going on 40 minutes sitting here wasting gas.
