We do not go to Shuckers often because we live quite a distance from there. We went for a special Birthday occasion this time. The SERVICE was the WORST I have ever experienced. I viewed at least four waitresses and only 4 to 5 tables of 4 or less so it was not like Shuckers was over crowded.

Great hospitality from the owner, very good wait service, comfortable ambiance, couldn’t decide what to eat from the menu–it all looked great–and all of our choices were outstanding. Amazed to learn that this is a small, local business, with only one or two other locations recently opened. Everything about this place appealed to each of the members of my party, one who likes trendy places the two who prefers quiet/comfy places. The two older members of my party, who have lived in Pinehurst since before this place opened and never tried it, are going to be frequent guests. I look forward to returning and trying other items on the menu. Thanks for a great family dinner!

From outside the building to inside the dining room it is a very nice experience. However I ordered the oysters and also a dip, the osyters we’re very cold and rubbery, It taste like they may have had freezer burn. The dip was extremely salty as well. TO BE FAIR, I must tell say that was my first and only time that I ate there, it may have been an off night just for my entree I’m not sure. The atmosphere was nice enough to encourage me to visit again, also I see all the other reviews are excellent. Just based off what I saw and how good the service was I will try their food again, my fingers are crossed I hope it just was a bad night because I would love to make this a place I frequent

Do not expect a reservation to be held up here! I called and reserved a table for a Saturday night and confirmed that they even accepted reservations when I called, but it turns out that the reservation was WORTHLESS! While waiting over 30 minutes past the reservation we watched the hostess tell everyone that came in that “it would be a little while” before they would get seated. What busy restaurant on a Saturday night doesn’t respond with an expected wait time? When I questioned about did we even have a reservation I was told that someone was sitting at our table and they “couldn’t just kick them out”. The whole point of a reservation is to have a reserved place to sit almost as soon as you arrive, not 30 minutes later! Finally, on the food the Calamari was OVERCOOKED and just nasty. I shared the “big” SOB which cost almost $30 thinking it would be enough to share and that was a joke. I will NEVER return to this restaurant. We wanted to try this place out since we had already been to the Full Moon, but I won’t be making that mistake again.

I am going to return and give it a try, I know their food is very good, in all fairness, I do not know why it happened, but our group was placed in an area that was unheated in the very coldest part of winter. We waited so long to get service, we sent someone in begging for some coffee to keep us warm. When we got out food much later we were almost too cold to eat..BUT I WILL SAY THIS IN THEIR FAVOR: Our group visited again last week (I was out of town) and a friend of mine said it could not have been better. They were very attentive to their needs, the food was very good, and cudos to them for making it up to the group.

My girlfriend and I went to lunch at this location. We both love seafood and I love oysters so It seemed like a good choice. My girlfriends stuffed Mahi was delicious and her portion was huge. She loved the fried okra as well. My plate of steamed oysters were awesome. Not really hard to steam oysters. My crab cake while good, was not worth the price for being so small. Only 4 normal sized bites. The rice that was served with it was also poured out of a steam and serve bag. My meal was on par with Macaroni Grill or Red Lobster. Nothing really special. But the real drag on the experience was the service. Let me say that it wasn’t horrible just apathetic. She really didn’t care. You know, the kind of waitress who’s backing up and trying to walk away as shes asking if your alright. She would almost cut you off when you told her what you wanted or gave your order. Not asking any follow ups or offering any suggestions. As mentioned before, feigning concern while almost walking past your table. Not even mentioning, offering or suggesting dessert? That’s just being a bush league waitress folks. She only got 15%. Overall this place is a on par with a Bonefish Grill. The food is nothing spectacular. The lackluster service affected my score the most.
