I don’t know about anyone eslse.. but this food and the ppl were sooo great! Can’t ever use the words “tasteless” or no “flavor”. Granted everyone may not be as adventurous with their taste buds, but this was My first time having West African food outside of what my husband and his family serves. It was sooooooo good! It had color flavor and ample servings. The Joloff rice was … I had that with chicken and the baked lamb. If you are in Newark, NJ and looking for a belly full with quick service stop on in. You won’t regret it!

The only reason I’m giving 1 star is due to the neatness. The food is horrible. If you want a proper food, this definitely not it. Absolute waste of money!

Never again first the chicken and rice combo they charged me $19 the rice was mushy and the chicken was over cooked and extremely hard and dried. It tasted as though the chicken was bad when I called to complain they said that they use hard chicken, not the soft one. I don’t understand what that means. Anyway, I won’t be back I don’t recommend it. Stay away my stomach still hurts from the two bites I took

If you are new to trying African food this is not the place to go. They don’t tell you exactly what they are giving (and if you don’t already know what the foods are, make you feel bad for not knowing.) I asked for egusi soup (not knowing there were different kinds because I’ve always received the same kind despite the location) Instead I was served pumpkin seed… I asked for fufu and got pounded yam instead. Yes it’s the same but i paid my money for what I asked for. Won’t be coming back. First and last.

This is my second time eating from Jaaraama Cuisine and this time I enjoyed the food. The flavor, the taste, and the spices all blended into one plate took home, to Togo, West Africa.

I stared ordering from here last summer. They were nice and friendly people and my husband and I continued going almost every week since then. However we noticed their prices begin to go up and assumed it was a yearly increase BUT after taking a break and returning after a few weeks we noticed their prices go up again. A month goes by and my husband goes back again and their price is lower $16.16 per plate-

Came here for lunch with a friend of mine during the work week. I ordered the attieke with lamb and my friend ordered the jollof rice with chicken. The food was amazing. They are generous in their portions. We dined in and they bring the food to you at the table. Very friendly. I highly recommend as they have so many options. I like that they have food prepared as my lunch time isn’t long enough. I will definitely be going there again..

First off, let me start by saying that I stumbled upon this restaurant by mistake. But it is, in my opinion, one of the best West African Restaurants in Newark!
