Definitely a place to come for your fish and shrimp.. it’s battered well and taste good. The service is good too and very friendly to answer your questions. It is seriously a place for people who love fish…

I would like to give the owner of this fish and chip place a 5-star review for their honesty. During our visit, my friend accidentally overpaid for their order of 2 fish with 1 chip, and the owner promptly returned the extra money to us. Despite not being a fan of fish and chips myself, I was pleasantly surprised by the freshness, crispiness, and fluffy texture of the ingredients at this small establishment. Even though I had eaten beforehand, I couldn’t resist finishing the entire plate. This place is a culinary gem in New York City, offering delicious food at affordable prices. Don’t miss the chance to indulge here, especially if you’re on a limited budget.

Punny fish and chip shop like it’s adjacent shops by the same owner. ~$20 for a large cod & pop. Large, crispy, flaky all that’s missing is yesterday’s newspaper for the authenticity. Alas place smells greasy like a chippy with all the frying, recommend takeaway or eathing outside.

I saw this place on The Best Thing I ever ate and so had to try. The fish and chips with regular cod was not the best thing J ever ate. It was not crispy enough. It is served hot but overall nothing memorable. Not bad but not the best I have had. If you add vinegar it was much better. No frills spot so it fits the traditional fish and chip shops. The portion size was good as well. 3.5 stars.

The fish was crispy and piping hot. My fries on the other hand were not as good. They mixed old with fresh fries. The first few that I got were cold and asked for a fresh batch. I didn’t even touch the fish. The guy at the counter started to give me a difficult time so I just asked for my money back and he was trying to convince me otherwise. Someone overheard and told him to give me the fresh fries and stop arguing!

Excellent fish and chips place in the West Village. Lovely guy at the counter, I ordered a large cod with chips, and ginger beer. Fish was nice and flaky, light crispy batter, and best tartar sauce I’ve ever had. Would definitely go again for the fish!

Lovely little place to get fish and chips. Counter service. Small area-about 6 bar seats. Everything was tidy and the man who helped us was very friendly and quick to help. I typically prefer smaller pieces of fried fish over one large piece and this is a large piece shop, but they did it very well and the fish stuck to the fry. Great tartar sauce. Good fries. Nice selection of UK beverages. Only two cons, which I won’t knock them a star for because, well it’s a fish shop and nyc: no bathrooms from what I could see and fish smell did cling to my clothes for a bit. Would like to return and try a few more menu items!

Good fish and chips. Clever name. Basic unassuming set-up. Uncharacteristically friendly service for NYC.

Exceptionally friendly service. I loved the atmosphere. The texture of the fish and chips were excellent. The fish was a little bland, but the tartar sauce was a great addition. I can tell they put love into that tartar sauce recipe!

It’s a chipper. Nothing more and nothing less. Fish and dirks have always been great on the 3 occasions I’ve been. Cod, haddock, battered sausage, peas, curry, gravy have all been sampled, along with a lifetimes worth of salt and vinegar. The food is more about memories, comfort and home than haute cuisine.
