Tried this place for the first time today. Ordered the Lo Mein w/ pork. It was just terrible. Noodles totally overcooked. Soft and mushy. No “fry” to it. Was extremely soupy. And the pork was just plain. And lacked flavor. Never going back again.

Good food even though it wasn’t the “traditional American” version I’m used to.

My husband wanted to celebrate his birthday here because they had unique vegan options and were extremely affordable (cheaper than most similar take-out oriented restaurants). We love Chinese food but had no idea this little innocuous place would be SO delicious. I had the hot braised tofu and he had the Mongolian tofu (see photos). Neither dish was one available in our hometown (Cincinnati, Ohio). Neither were particularly spicy, either, but both were ridiculously delicious. I had a hard time eating it slowly enough not to burn my tongue. The half dishes were $6.50 and the whole dishes were $8.50. This is among the cheapest Chinese food we’ve ever eaten but among the best flavor-wise. Both of us left with full and happy stomachs.

Lets start off by saying go somewhere else, I recently moved down to the area and was craving some Chinese food. I then came upon this place that was nearby so I decided to give them a chance. After seeing the 4 star reviews, I called in for a order of chicken fried rice, shrimp fried rice, and orange chicken. Calling in was fine, picking up the food was fine. Now this is why it gets a one star review, if I could put no stars I would …. The rice had no flavor what so ever and the chicken in the rice tasted old and chewy almost like they tossed some leftover chicken in the rice after. But I was hungry so I kept eating it… after getting 3/4 of the way down I started to taste a burnt flavor, I then started mixing up the rice and the smell got worse, the rice was burnt.. the orange chicken was another story… the container was filled to the top of sauce that looked unappealing almost like the orange chicken was swimming around in clear glue it was so disgusting. Me and my girl couldn’t finish what we had and ended up throwing it all away… it gets even worse… my stomach starting hurting and I had to rush to the bathroom, my girl also was complaining about stomach pain and had to go too…. This place was a disaster, please avoid at all cost, don’t listen to these fake reviews because I wouldn’t feed this food to my dog.

So I ordered a chicken fried rice, a pork fried rice, and some crab rangoon.. first off the chicken fried rice tasted like freezer burnt chicken mixed with it tasted extremely overcooked to hide the fact that the chicken was definitely no good anymore… the crab ragoon was extremely bitter and so overcooked there was nothing really inside of it, but honestly the WORST part of the entire experience is that I asked for extra soy sauce and was given 3 in total, so I went back in to ask for more… and was literally given 2 more… I use 5 on just mine… I guess jokes on me for giving this place a try… will be going to China Wok from now on… they aren’t greedy with their soy sauce

Mediocre food at best. Lemon chicken was bland, bland, bland. The Happy Family was just ok. The Crab Rangoon was bland. Zero chance of going again.

Been going here for 20 years and I’ve never had a bad meal or one complaint. That’s something these days. Good family owned business, Jeannie & Richard always give you friendly service, and food fast with a smile. A solid community business in Affton.
