Stopped by this place twice in one week because the food was great. They had good portions and the koolaid was good, although I only got a sample because the cup is filled with more ice than juice. The main complaint is the service. The older lady at the counter was very unpleasant both times I visited. No greeting, real snarky, and mean. I attempted to smile and interact with her and she was not having it. That kinda disappointed me because the atmosphere give soulful, laid back, and place I could really vibe to and dine in frequently. Just didn’t feel I’d want to because of the bad customer service.

1st time here, and it felt like HOME!!! The food was on POINT!!! So tasty and savory. The catfish was EVERYTHING!!! I had mac ‘n cheese and green beans as my sides…WHEW!!! So good!!!! The lady at the register was so sweet to my son and I. I truly felt like I was at home. I’ll definitely be going back very soon.

Oxtail Fridays!!! Smoked or smothered…both are amazing! I tried yams, greens (FYI they are spicy), cabbage, and Mac n cheese (so good). I also had some peach cobbler (had to stop from eating it all). The place is big, clean, and looks newly renovated. Service was great.y friend and I truly enjoyed our lunch break. We will be back!! Kudos to the chef! Amazing food.

70.00 for 2 Cajun fish and shrimp plates with 2 sides, drinks and two cakes, and 1 peach cobbler, YES, a hello how are you, thanks for coming in wouldn’t have been so bad!! LOL BUT ANYWAYS I’d probably return because the food was tasty!! And the portions are enough Mama was the friendliest one. Even the young son in there was rude bc his dad (the owner) kept fussing at him. You could just feel tension in there.. but anyways better building from when it was located in Oakcliff. Same great cooking. I’ma go ahead and give 5 starts bc I can’t take away from the food, but they could be a little more welcoming. Maybe it was just a busy or bad moment, so I’ll be considerate to that!

Don’t get me wrong the food is good. But standing in line I forgot my wallet, went to pay and I showed her there card where you buy 9 and get 1 free meal Well that didn’t happen because I went out to get my money the card says Present upon purchase I told her I would not be back. They offer a card and then because I left my money out side refused to punch one little line.

The people were really nice, it had a family like atmosphere. The food was delicious, it crept into my soul and inserted joy and happiness! Listen, this food was made with the love of a sweet grandmother ❤. I got the smothered oxtails, macaroni and cheese, broccoli cheese and rice casserole, and strawberry cake for dessert. Just go see for yourself! Apparently Friday is oxtail day..just a heads up.
