This place used to be great. When I arrived, I waited a significant time for a server to get the initial classic basket of warm tortilla chips and salsa. I thought maybe just busy. Nope, preoccupied with her cell phone. Moments later a basket of cold stale chips appears with no salsa, or utensils, or menu’s just a quick, “I’ll be back”.

When we walked in the restaurant it smelled of smoke, then the sweet tea tasted like a rancid dish rag, the Spanish rice was not good, my daughters chicken was pink in the center, and no flavor in the chicken that was in the chimichanga. Spent over $90 and the only two things that were good were the $5 margaritas and chips/salsa. Definitely would not recommend this restaurant. I have eaten at many Mexican restaurants all over the world overs the years and this one was not it.

This place is a certified dump with very poor ownership and/or management, just look at some of their responses to reviews; one person was a “Karen” because she detailed her terrible experience at this joint. My chicken was pink and the tea, yo, it had the taste of a moldy dish rag. The place smelled of cigarette smoke and there was someone eating at the bar while holding a dog lol. It’d be two stars if they’d own the issues but they are probably relying on their local, cigarette smoking, regulars to keep the doors open. Only positive thing I can say is the salsa was great and the margarita was as well (after asking for it four times). Go at your own risk, experiences may vary!

We drive an hour to eat here. It’s one of our favorites! We always get the Sergio special or the Sunday special. The servers are always friendly and the food is fabulous. As for the margs….there’s are the only ones I’ll drink! We go every year for my hubby’s birthday and we will be celebrating with you tomorrow. I’m dying for a tamale!

I went in and immediately felt like maybe I should leave because there was live music being played way too loud for the space. It was what I’d expect at a concert rather than a restaurant. I decided to stay and eat at the bar. I ordered the daily special 2 tacos with rice & beans plus a tostada. I asked for chicken as the protein. The waitress asked if I wanted shredded chicken or grilled so I opted for grilled. I ate it and when I received the bill I noticed 2 $3 charges and a $.75¢ charge. I asked what those charges were for and the waitress (different waitress than the one who took my order) didn’t know either. She left then returned and told me it’s because I chose grilled chicken. I explained that wasn’t made clear when I ordered to which she responded the other waitress probably didn’t know either. So now I’m supposed to accept that no one was aware of the upcharge but somehow it made it on the bill w/o anyone notifying me and I’m just supposed to pay it. Besides the lack of communication about the price difference my issue is the inconsistency of the upcharge. My tostada had twice as much grilled chicken as either taco (street tacos) but it only cost $.75¢ on the tostada but it cost $3; basically the price of their street taco. I feel like an upcharge that’s as much as the actual menu item is excessive. I will not be back.
