On July 27, 2020 I drove from Metairie to Hahnville, Louisiana to show my support to a local Black owned restaurant. Placing my of food order over $90.00 in person with the young lady working the register attitude was so painful to digest while placing my order. She acted as if she was doing me a favor by taking my order and as if she was talking to her friends or on the streets in New Orleans hoods. Attitudes with young Black women especially have chased a lot of customers away from non Black businesses thinking people MUST tolerate their rudeness that they copy off of Reality TV and hip-hop shows that does not benefit the Black communities nor any Black businesses. As of today, I will no longer patronize ACE’s SOUL FOOD restaurant with any of my money and this wasn’t this young lady first time displaying her nonchalant attitude towards me while I’m spending my money with a black establishment. Even though the food is good but, the service is terrible and nasty. Who wants to spend their money especially that so many people unemployment checks from Covid19 are stopping to be greeted by some adding unnecessary stress.
