Adamo’s was once a nice Italian place that we enjoyed when in Clinton. Stopped by on a Saturday at 5:30 and it wasn’t until we’d ordered our drinks that we noticed we were the only table of diners. Two other tables were filled with employees, engrossed in their phones.

My husband and I and my two kids went to this restaurant to eat after spending the day at the Water Zoo. We walked in and it smelled very old and musty inside. We stood looking around for a few minutes before anyone greeted us or acknowledged us. The two waitresses working were not happy to be there and one argued with me about ordering a ceasar salad. When our food came, they had forgotten it and she asked if I still even wanted it. The staff sat and talked loudly in the booth behind us about other staff members. The food was pretty good but I will not be back because of the horrible service.

Took family after hearing the great reviews. Waited almost 2 hours for food. They took the order and forgot to give it to the kitchen. Was continually told it was coming. They realized their mistake and told us the meal was free, then charged us for it. When I complained they threatened to call the police. The food was mediocre, and the service terrible. How they managed to get the reputation they have, I’ll never understand. I tell everyone I know to stay away from here.

Do not stop here. The service was so terrible that we had to walk out before our food even arrived. The problem started when my uncle and aunt wanted to split a meal instead of order 2 separate meals. The waitress informed them that they would be charged extra if they did that, which of course upset my uncle. After arguing with the waitress about why that was stupid and the waitress replying that she only worked there, she didn’t set the rules, my uncle said that was fine and he would just not order any food at all. The rest of us ordered our dinners and the waitress left. (She reeked of cigarette smoke almost to the point I thought she was smoking while taking our orders.) About 5 minutes later an old woman came to the table, announced that she was the owner of the restaurant and demanded to know if someone had a problem. My uncle said that he did and asked why there was a charge to share a plate of food between two people, the owner answered that was the policy and if he didn’t like it that he could leave, which my uncle then opted to do. The owner of the restaurant yelled after him the whole way that she had been in business for 12 years and if people didn’t like her place then why would she be open still. I should mention at this point that our group were the only people in the entire restaurant at 7pm on a Thursday night. After my uncle left the building the owner didn’t come back to our table and the rest of my family opted to leave also.
