Adda, meaning a place where people hang out, is the new restaurant from critically acclaimed artisanal Indian restaurant Rahi owner Roni Mazumdar and Executive Chef Chintan Pandya. Adda holds up to its name with its bright, casual atmosphere, collage wall of Indian newspaper covers, and rustic, unapologetically authentic Indian food.

Had a great meal here for some spicy, authentic Indian food! Everything was delicious and the mango lassi was a great add (very thick and flavorful) our dinner. We ordered the Bheja Fry (fried goat brains) for appetizer, and Dilliwala Butter Chicken and Lucknow Dum Biryani (goat biryani) for the mains – recommend all! We also ordered the garlic naan which was delicious and goes really well with the butter chicken sauce. You’re in for extra treat if you enjoy spicy food!

Arrrived 6:15 PM on a Friday and it was already buzzing with activity! They have 5-6 bar seats for walk ins, but reservations for tables are highly recommended if not even necessary!!

Pretty good Indian food in a nicely decorated restaurant. Most stuff on the menu is spicy, but it is not too bad. What surprised me is I sense a quite strong taste of fish sauce in the butter chicken, which is not usually the case. I’d say the main course portion is pretty big. Food comes out pretty fast after you order.

The place has a good vibe and ambience with the indian songs in the background and the decor. Thats the only good thing here. We didn’t enjoy the food. The vada pau was OK seemed refried. The lotus kofta seemed unique but was super sweet as if we were eating some dessert. The kale chaat had too much dahi (yogurt) on it killing the taste of the pakora while the dahi puri had very less chutney and was full of dahi. The staff didn’t have a smile on the face and was not very interactive. They all looked overworked. Masalawala and sons were much better in comparison to Adda!! We regretted wasting out weekend calories here.

Thoroughly disappointed with the Lucknow Dum Biryani (goat) dish because of undercooked rice and unharmonious spiciness ( torturously spicy without regards for flavor balance/resonance).

We headed to the Adda being the oldest restaurant run by the Unapologetic Indian group in nyc. The vibe is upbeat as everyone is seemingly having good time in real canteen like environment with loud desi music. However, may be for our palette Indian food is not where high on chilli spice > flavor. We ordered 2 starters and one entree; we found all high on spice with less flavor. Service is good and they even offered curd for our little one. We had higher hopes and my wife kinda liked the chicken starter. We were told the menu will be updated shortly and reservations will be more difficult then. We didn’t enjoy it much though.

We were apprehensive as we entered this hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Inside it is indeed like a college town hangout. The menu is limited when compared with a typical Indian restaurant but the food is deee-licious. We had Lucknow Dum Biryani, Butter Chicken and several naans. Best of all, getting a reservation on Resy is relatively (!) easy when compared with their sister businesses – Dhamaka and Semma.

Bad food with the hype of Original. Very disappointed. Biriyani was goat gravy mixed with rice and served in dum pot. Prawns were undercooked. Lotus root kofta was stiff and couldn’t be split by Naan when eating. No raita was served plain American yogurt.
