I had never heard of this place prior to family visiting Kentucky. Apparently, it is well known and they had looked it up. Specifically, they wanted to go try some of the special cake the place is known for. I was pleasantly surprised. The host was exceptionally friendly. The staff was great. The food was good. Getting there is a bit tricky – follow your GPS don’t trust your gut. But, otherwise it was excellent.

Fried pimento cheese sticks and fried green tomatoes with a Kentucky mule…awesome heavy app dinner! Great service and atmosphere

The food was great, but more importantly, the people were wonderful! We stayed at the inn and hung out at the bar most of the evening where we were able to order anything from the regular menu. Despite there being to very large parties on the same night that pretty much filled the place, we never felt neglected. We live 2 hours away, but will definitely be back just to visit this place and enjoy the region.

Great atmosphere, food was pretty good. It’s been better though, and I would say they are more often a 4+. Tonight, the pimento cheese was too salty and the chicken salad was on the dry side, but the crab cakes were spot on, as well as the sweet potato fries and pimento cheese sticks (different batch?). Also had some nice musical entertainment tonight. Will keep coming back!

We made a last minute decision to eat supper here and we’re glad we did! Laura M was super nice and on top of things without being intrusive. The food was excellent and it was a great place for a meal for two. The fried banana peppers stuffed with jalapeño cream cheese and deep fried in wonton wrappers were amazing. Great atmosphere.

Food was bland and unflavorful. Atmosphere was nice just not so much the food for the asking price. The food reminds me of upgraded hospital food in the fact that if hospital food was this good, you’d be happy to receive it… But to pay what you are asked, leaves something more to be desired.

The worst service ever! Four of us, it took 20 minutes to get a beer wine and a cocktail. Salad wasn’t served until we got the entree. Were not informed of any specials! Obviously our server was new and poorly trained! The only saving grace was that the food was above par and well presented! But would be reluctant to return!

My wife and I stopped here for lunch on our way to Woodford Reserve. The food was wonderful and dessert (bourbon bread pudding) was extremely flavorful and filling. Get the extra sauce!!! What set this place apart from the other stops along our honeymoon was the warm family feeling we received from Lily when walking through the front door. She was interested in who we were and why we were in the area. She provided us with extra information about taking a different path to Woodford that showcased the river and horse farms along with were to get some Bourbon Ball “Boo boo’s”. Our server was Rebecca M. and she provided service that was just as exceptional as the food.
