Very authentic food with wonderful spices and seasoning. Highly recommend the beef tibbs (ask for it spicy). The misir, gomen, and shiro sides were glorious tasting as well.

We placed a take out order for the Addissae vegetarian platter for two of us to eat for dinner. The order was did not take long to be ready and the staff was quick and helpful. The platter was enough food for two people and was a great way to try several different options from their menu. Everything tasted amazing and we would love to go back again.

This is 100% my absolute favorite place to eat in Asheville! It is a gem. I have lived here over 10 years and only just started going to Addissae about 6 months ago – to my own dismay! I go every couple of weeks now. It’s my special place to go when I am on a date with my partner or if I’ve had a bad day and need to treat myself. The staff is so friendly and they always make me smile. It feels so comforting going in and seeing them. I don’t go to any other restaurants where I literally close my eyes and just savor every bite…it’s truly the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. I have seen some reviews talk about slow service but I personally really enjoy their level of service here. They are genuine and don’t overwhelm you by asking how your meal is multiple times while you are eating – which to me, at most restaurants, just feels like the staff is playing out the script that they were trained to do and it doesn’t feel genuine. It just feels more homey here, like you are family. Love love love you Addissae! Thank you for all you do!!

Vegetarian sampler was a favorite, but all the food was great! Very busy with only two front of house staff, so some delays with getting refills and the check. So glad they’re staying busy and bringing Ethiopian cuisine and culture to NC!

Try this restaurant for the food experience. Tasty and complex flavors. However, the service was abysmal and we almost left. Water took 20 minutes after we were sat. There are no reservations but should be to manage covers. The restaurant was almost full but 20 minutes for water, plus 15 more minutes to order, and 35 minutes for food to hit the table. It may have been an off night but the service almost overshadowed the entire delicious meal. Highly recommend to try but be prepared to wait awhile. There is no alcohol, only water, tea, and 2 soda options.

This place deserves even more recognition than it has. The food is amazing and the flavor is so unique and delicious. Service was great and the waiter was very warm and friendly. 10 out of 10, you have to go. We ordered the family style veggie and meat.
