I really wish I would have tried this place a lot sooner than I did. The owner was very nice and the food was delicious. I ended up going with the chicken stew, fried rice, cabbage, and also asked for some plantains and he loaded up the box with everything. Plantains we’re delicious and sweet. Cabbage had great texture and flavor. And the chicken and fried rice together were great. I’m not sure what the red sauce is called that was over the chicken but it was delicious. Can’t wait to come back and try something new.

African Dream is unbelievably delicious. The chicken is tender and flavorful.the cabbage is crunchy (but still done) and seasoned well. The plantains pair very well with the red pepper dream sauce. The owner is also super friendly and clearly proud of his restaurant. Definitely worth a stop to the Lenexa public market at lunch.

Wish I would have taken a picture, but devoured the Peanut Butter Sauce +Chicken + Rice. Great first experience trying African food. The people working the stand are so nice and welcoming. They go above and beyond and we even had a more personal conversation while waiting for my food. Can’t wait to try more of their cuisine!

Absolutely hidden gem! Came to Kansas for a swim meet across the street from the public market in Lenexa and I am so mad. I didn’t see it sooner. The food was absolutely amazing. Got the brisket, cabbage potatoes and next thing you know I am doing a happy dance in the middle of the square the food was amazing. The owners are amazing great portions, hot food, great great place highly recommend.

African Dream Cuisine has amazing food and wonderful service. I had never eaten any form of African food before, so they recommended the Peanut Butter sauce with chicken and rice and it was delicious. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to try something new and I’ll definitely be returning the next time I’m in Lenexa!

The stewed chicken was absolutely succulent and so flavorful. It has an amazing home cooked nostalgic feel. I had it with the cabbage and plantains. I could eat that cabbage everyday for the rest of my life and never get tired of it. It’s so well spiced and had that wonderful slow cooked flavor. The plantains were perfectly sweet and soft. You gotta get the spicy sauce. It really brings the flavors to life in a new way. I accidentally dropped one of my little cups of spicy sauce and felt like I lost a part of my soul. I will get it back again next time. No photos because it was gone too quickly for this world.
