We have lived in Blue Springs since 1979 and love Mexican food! We travel all over to try different Mexican restaurants. We have waited several weeks to try this one. We have seen the mixed reviews. We decided to go there today and try it and we were not disappointed! The Chili rellenos are only a special on Wednesday, but they said I could order it, which I did, and my wife got the hot pot. Both were awesome and hot! We got Espinaca dip for starters and it was awesome as well! We went during happy hour and had several house margaritas (8 total) and loved them!!! Then it was time for desserts and we checked out their ice cream bar. Too many ice creams that looked good, we tried the one that looked like strawberry swirl and it was awesome! Nancy was our server and did a 5 star job!!! Will definitely come back!!!

Would leave negative stars if I could and I NEVER leave reviews. This place was absolutely horrible. Waited for an hour for food. When I ask how much longer, I got a shoulder shrug, then I ask again and waiter said 10mins. Looked at him dead in his eye & said come on, just give me the truth. He shrugged his shoulders again. The party of 8 that I was with walked out! The absolute worst service I have ever seen (truly no service). Neighbors had said the same thing, but they left a review and management ask them to give a second chance. They said it was much better. I however will not give them a second chance. Restaurant was not crowded at all. We were not the only ones that had been waiting for sometime. We were just smart enough to leave. My advise, go ANYWHERE else!

First time at this new Mexican Restaurant in Blue Springs. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by a young man. Once we were seated, chips and salsa were delivered to our table. They were a bit busy for a Thursday night but our server did a great job. I had the fajita trio and could not have been wrong. The portion was enough for two, all three meats were tender and full of flavor. My girlfriend had the Hot pot and looked amazing. We both had a Lime Margarita on the rocks and the flavor was right on the spot. We’ll be definitely back. I recommend this place

Decided to try the new place (were el rancho regulars) and support a local business. I wondered if they were even open as we were the only ones there for maybe 3/4 of our meal. Our server was prompt and friendly, however the prices were higher than I expected with the average dish being $14-$16. The chips were ok/average, nothing special and not warm. The queso cheese dip was horrible, room temperature and thick like it came right out of a store bought bottle of Pace, seriously no warmth at all and bland. I ordered the Monterey Burrito ($15) with beef/pork/beans and it came with a side of rice and beans. The burrito granted was thick (but short) and filling, however the same bland queso dip was on top. The rice appeared way over cooked and was crunchy, beans were good for dipping chips in. The wife had the taco salad and was also large, plenty to take home. The service and food were good, a little high for what you get. Not sure about the music they play, kinda a k-pop Latino music, lots of repetition of annoying sounds and beats (one song had a high pitched dog barking all though it). The interior needs some sprucing up, very bland, open and empty feeling but leaves room for improvement. Had “ice cream” for desert, kinda weird as it’s not traditional ice cream but more of a very fine shaved ice, appears all water based and no dairy in what I had. Overall, we’d go back but we’ll give them a while to refine things.

Told only one size of Margareta which was small for $7. Taco Burrito was $14 and I didn’t enjoy the flavor of the beef. Sauce was this but bland. I realize it’s new, so give it a try, just not my thing.

One of the worst experiences I’ve had. We went for their special when they had the mariachi(which didn’t start until after an hour it was supposed to, which is also when we left). Got there and they sat us at a huge table then asked us to move. Which was fine, because there was only 4 of us. Then we got stale tortilla chips, which wasn’t that big of a deal but we asked if we could get a new basket. Gave us stale chips again, they weren’t even warm. I’m sure they were the same chips we sent back. Ok whatever, we didn’t get chips, no big deal. Then we ordered, birria tacos were 90% fat and cheese, I couldn’t even eat them. Flautas were edible, I’m sure other people would of liked them. Margarita pitcher was mainly ice so it watered down pretty quickly. After we ordered, our waitress never came back until after we had already flagged down another waiter. We needed utensils so our food got cold. So for once, I didn’t leave a tip. Checked my bank account and they gave themselves a $20 tip. What a joke of a “Mexican” restaurant. Won’t make the mistake of coming here again. Very disappointing.

Nancy was our server and she made sure our salsa, drinks, and chips were never empty! Great service! Food was great. Atmosphere was clean and open. Margaritas were the highlight! Will definitely be back!

We had a party of 6 ladies. They quickly put tables together for us and got us seated. We had one person in our party who was running late. They did not rush us to order while we were waiting on her. We all enjoyed the food and commented we definitely would come back. The margaritas were delicious and on special. We did have a few mix-ups with our orders but our server very swiftly mide them right. Our server was friendly and gave us great service just sorry I didn’t get his name so I could call him out on here.

Let me start by saying that we came here and had Nancy as our server previously this week. We even left a great review and said we would be back. We came back less than a week later, bringing someone that had never been, and had a terrible experience. I will say that with the proper staffing, this place can be great. We came here when it first opened, and the food was terrible, menu was small, but great service. So, we wanted to give the restaurant time to make changes. The second time was great. Menu was improved. Food was great. Let’s talk about this third time at 2:30pm on a Sunday. In between a lunch and dinner rush.
