I really like this place.. the sushi is so fresh. And you can tell the take pride in there food and work. The only thing that really bothers me is it nearly impossible to order. It seems like every-time I go in there even for take out I can’t place a order. It’s really annoying.. I wish they had another person in there to help. Because I really do love their sushi, but it really sucks to drive up there and be told “no we can’t take your order”.. I wish they could change that.

A Calle Ocho Gem ! Ahi Sushi is amazing! We’re local and we’ve passed by it many times but tonight, we finally got a chance to dine. Brian is an incredible sushi chef and he prepared us a personalized menu with different sashimi options. The fish was super fresh and the saki was divine. It’s a very intimate setting, big enough for 5-6 people. So we appreciated chatting with Brian and seeing him work his magic. That in itself was part of the overall experience. So don’t miss out on this very unique space in the middle of the craziness of Calle Ocho.

great experience! family environment. the chef makes the sushi hand made to order and they are grade A. The Omakase experience is pricey but worth every penny if you can splurge. Will deffinately return.

Had the Omakase experience. Brian and his assistant Focus (might be different spelling) provide mouthwatering after mouthwatering selections that were unforgettable. The thin sliced tuna toro with uni and the torched scallops and the Spanish mackerel were highlights in a meal that had no low lights. Thank you Brian and Focus, can’t wait to come back.

Let me tell you about this little sushi counter tucked away with the most bomb Korean sushi master in Little Havana Calle Ocho. A place that only sits about 8 and BYOB. A truly hidden gem with each piece beautifully cut. They source the freshest Japanese fish which makes each piece taste and melt like butter. Not only is this unassuming sushi counter a top on my list but, it’s great watching all the craziness walk by while you’re eating little delicate pieces. If you’re into no frills dining in Miami, you need to put this on your list!

We have been to Ahi Sushi 3 times in the last 2 months, twice for omakase and once a la carte. The omakase sessions were superb, with a mix of standard and creative dishes, well prepared and nicely plated, and all of the fish was of excellent quality. At $80/pp for 9 to 10 courses it’s not cheap, but is good value, and we eat a lot of Japanese food and I can confidently say you won’t find better for less in Miami. The a la carte menu is very basic, so if there’s something specific you want, you should ask for it. The chef will happily take requests off-menu if he has the ingredients on hand, and if he doesn’t, will suggest an alternative. If just want basic rolls you can get them cheaper elsewhere, although they probably won’t be quite as good.

What an absolute gem of a place: the owner is incredibly kind, patient and welcoming. We had a wonderful meal with 13 piece omakase but there is a separate small menu ala carte If you prefer. Everything is high quality and patiently pieced together.

Absolutely the best sushi in Miami. This place is a hidden gem in the middle of Little Havana. The fish is as fresh as it gets and the rolls are absolutely delicious. The hamachi ponzu and rainbow roll are a must!

This was by far one of my favorite meals I’ve ever had. Chef Brian was very kind and had served great, carefully crafted dishes. As other reviews have mentioned, its a small place and I’d definitely recommend a reservation. Not only was the food amazing (a little pricey but well worth it in my opinion), but it was awesome to eat in such a fun, intimate setting. The fish was very fresh and I was able to try new varieties as well as have familiar fish prepared in a whole new way. Thanks Chef Brian!!

First, we discovered the best street Thai food outside of Thailand at “Lung Thai Tapas.” Then popped into Ahi Sushi bar and were blown away by the sushi and service. Neither of which I expected to find on Calle Ocho. Jackpot!
