I just visit AJ’s at Destin FL last week . my daughter wants to try shrimp and we ordered ‘ firecracker shrimp taco’.When I ordered it, I thought it willl be just a regular taco with the shrimp in it but when I get my order and try , it was so amazing. I still have the taste in my mouth. I will appreciate if you start caring that you will get the regular customer. and I’m sure other customer also will love it.

Oysters were good, club sandwich was good however the rest of our party (of 6) didn’t like their orders. Literally everything else was way overcooked, or almost burnt. Our server was attentive but we didn’t complain as we were in a huge hurry to move on. One could simply look at the food and realize it wasn’t acceptable. We sat in the nonsmoking side but could still smell cigarettes. Not a stop we would make again.

I’m always looking for a local restaurant when I’m out of town. I prefer to stay away from chains. AJs did not disappoint. We sat at the bar and the service was excellent. We ordered drinks off the special drink menu and they were delicious and refreshing. The bartender helped us select our meals. We split a calamari appetizers that was surprisingly good. She also recommended the boiled shrimp special. Our side was the homemade onion rings and they were top notch. I chose AJs from another reviewer that mentioned is had been there for over 30 years so I figured it had to be good if it was still around… and it was more than good!

Love how they have it split up to a smoking side and non-smoking side with glass wall. Their oysters are delicious and from the Gulf. Their servers were awesome and went above and beyond the call of duties. I wish I had got the Redneck platter instead of the stuff flounder. The flounder was superb but the platter offers different combo of stuff.
